I saw the lowlights on EL Weekly and the defending in the second half was woeful atrocious what other words do you want?
pineapple, we have failed to score in 16 League games this season, we don't do goalscoring, but we normally defend well it's our forte at Belfield. Illustrated by the fact that despite shipping 6 in that game and 2 last week we still have a goals against average around 1 per game.
As regards the first goal in last week's home game against Shels, yes Quigley should have punted the ball downfield but I wasn't suggesting he was player of the year at any stage.

Lads the worst goal scoring record and your giving it to a centre forward, you stundents have such a good sence of humour...... personally i think it has to go to Kenna he has improved a lot this year.
That doesn't prove anything. You can't be selective about the games you use. The fact is we've conceded 25 goals(which is still excellent). Yes the Shels game was a freak result but there's a reason why and that's reflected in the goals against column.
There's a lot more to being a striker than scoring goals.
I voted for Dicker because I think he is your best player, the only thing that stoped me going for Kenna was his distribution, it is bad at times plus i taught Dicker should have got it last year. This year or the latter part of this year Kenna has dug in, he did get dropped at tthe start of the season if i remember rightly.
No way..... me knows nothing I guess i need to go to more of your games. Anyway I still think Dicker is the better player, but really it should go to a defender because UCD just cant score.... ohhh and how many shapes does Sammon throw in a game. He not a bad player but I dont know how you could even say he is player of the year. Its plain and simple a centre forward is meant to score goals and he doesn't .
He's our top scorer, and when you compare his record with the rest of the league's strikers it isn't too bad. He should have more goals, but you can't expect him to put away every chance.
It's player of the year, not goalscorer of the year.He not a bad player but I dont know how you could even say he is player of the year
I don't care how it compares with other strikers, 5 goals is a paltry return for a forward. He has proven he is deficient when it comes to finishing and only showed any real aerial prowess against Sligo.

5 is a rubbish total for an ever-present striker, especially because the fact of the matter is that he gets plenty of opportunities (largely due to his own hard work, it is true). nobody doubts he works hard and that he fulfils an important role in the team, but he has not been the best player this season.
Agree with previous 2. He hasn't been good enough to merit player of the year. His contribution of how many goals hasn't been as good as the amount of goals our defence has saved us from conceding.
