    Heineken Cup 06/07.

Munster, Leinster and Ulster all have tough openers. I predict:

    Leicester Tigers to beat Munster

Leinster to beat Gloucester by 10 points.

Ulster to scrape past Toulouse by 2 points in the shock of the day.

I don't think it will be a good year for Munster and I can see them not getting out of the group stages unfortunately. Ulster are much improved and I give them a good chance to get out of their group. Leinster to me look the strongest Irish outfit this year but will probably under achieve as usual.

A lot of pundits reckon Ulster have their best team since the year they won the Heineken Cup in 1999.

Unless they can learn to win away i see them having no chance.

Munster will do well to keep Leicester from getting a bonus point & get one themselves.

Leinster could win by large margin or lose by one. Depends who turns up on the day. I'll be cheering for Gloucester anyway.

I saw repeat of RTE roundshow programme last night. Cringeworthy at best. Will be interesting to see how RTE adapt to only having rights to highlights at 9pm

Big win by Ulster but in difficult group & still need to prove they can win away.

I think Leinster were flattered by the winning margin as mixed the superb with the terrible.

Massive win for Munster eventhough they didn't play well - lineout & scrum very poor. Great kick by O'Gara to win.

O'Gara was superb yesterday - Munster didn't play to their full potential yesterday but never looked like conceding a try until the penalty try was given.

I've got tickets for Leinster-Edinburgh next weekend which should be interesting - never been to Murrayfield but lets hope BOD and co keep the winning run going.

Great results all round. Huge win for Ulster although missing the bonus point could be important, Munster were a bit lucky by the sound of it on the radio, they seemed to be under huge pressure for most of the game but Leicester kept ****ing up before they could finish anything. Leinster were comfortable the whole way through really as they looked like they could score at will and Gloucester's pack made no impression.

Will Munster match Leinster's recent home scores against Bourgoin next week I wonder.

Wasn't having a go. Munster fans seem to be a bit defensive recently.

Results seem to back what he was saying, Irish and Welsh beating English teams all weekend.

No. They will save the ciricket scores for when it really matters. Their goal with be 5 points.

A 5-0 win? Could be a risky strategy.

If Bourgoin are as disinterested as in Lansdowne the last two times, Munster won't be able to help themselves scoring a pile of points.

Agree. It's rare to get a genuine and honest interview like that - so fair play to Ronan O'Gara, a true gent.

Ulster looked well beaten on friday & still need to prove they can win on the road.

Munster looked impressive on saturday & can only improve with more games. Flannery back for Sheehan would tighten up the lineout too. Bench looks liek has more depth than previous years.

Leinster gave typical performance on sunday. They will probably be saved by being in weak pool.

Only saw the highlights as no sky - George Hamilton what a tosser. And then McGuirk getting on his high horse defending him. Why we have to put up with Hamilton commentating on rugby is beyond me, surely there's people in RTE that actually know modern rugby as opposed to this duffer? (eg "Dempsey's trying to circumnavigate the defence" - no George, he's actually coming back inside to his support). Grrrrrr.

Leinster just need to make better decisions and find that consistency. However, playing the game in the style they do, it's always going to be a question of inches between an amazing move and a poor decision.

Thought Leinster were poor at the weekend, having that French idiot in charge didn't help their cause though (well apart from missing the forawrd pass). Their group may be one of the weaker ones but they still need to win 3 out of 4 as a bare minimum now.

Rugby isn't an easy sport to just pick up & have a go at commentary. George Hamilton betrays a complete ignorance of even the most basic of rugby rules.
