Jol likes a little and large pairing up front so Berbatov and Bent will rotate as will Robbie and Defoe
Robbie & Berbatov really blossomed in second part of last season. My only concern for Robbie is that he has started the last 2 seasons slowly, but I think he and Berbatov really put Defoe in the shade last year. Bent will have it all to prove, Robbie has nothing to prove at Spurs. He'll be fine.

If Bent is worth 16.5m then how much would Doyle fetch for? Torres for 28m....... has the footballing world gone mad?

You'll NEVER beat the Irish.......you'll just draw with us instead!!!
It truly is crazy that a nothing player like Bent is bought for that. He's an awkward, bull of a striker with no first touch and no football brain. Dunno what Jol is thinking
I'm not sure he's a nothing striker, his record stands comparison with Doyle's and he's a year further on. He'd certainly be in our squad.
As to his value, I always assume that English players go for twice their real worth (c.f. Ashley Young). No-one has ever explained why, though I think it's a bit like house prices. Bent may be worth buying for 16.5 million if, as is likely, some other Enlgish club will pay 20 million in 2 years.
Jol has publicly stated that Robbie is now one of his "untouchables" i.e. he is first choice for the big games (alongside Berbatov). Defoe will now be sold, and/or Mido, since neither is prepared to act as occasional back-up from the bench.
I'm very surprised that Bent's so keen on Spurs that he accepted a pay cut of £25k per week from what WHU offered (!), especially when he's unlikely to start the season as a regular. I'd imagine he will get lesser games to start with (cup ties etc); therefore, barring serious loss of form or injury to RK or Berba, he must hope that he plays so well when he does get his chance that Jol can't leave him out.
As for his quality, he has scored more Premiership goals over the last two seasons than any other Englishman - almost a goal every other game - which is impressive, considering Charlton were such a mediocre team.
Was he crazy!! Yeah , in a very special way , an Irishman.
I slept, and dreamed that life was Beauty;
I woke, and found that life was Duty.
Looks like hes dropped for his club's next game.
About time. I think that he should lose the Irish captaincy and should also be dropped from Ireland?

Part of Jol's squad rotation.
Can we get this thread binned?
Christ, i hope he isnt, I have him in my fantasty league team.
Him and Doyle both playing well would be a very good partnership.Captain of Ireland? Maybe not.But don't drop him.Who will you put in his place? Clinton Morrison??
Get him outta it and stick Berbatov in,Jol likes to play with a big man and a small man and he currently only has 1 big man!

Says on the Spurs site the team will be "largely unchanged" so I expect Keane will start
