keane appeared too late in the game last night to inspire the win, he should have been on from the start, bad selection by Jol.

He played behind the front two which suits him. Should have scored at the end though.

Spurs sign Bent - where does this leave Robbie?

Fighting for his place I suspect. Hope he doesn't spend most of the season warming the bench.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

At a guess I would say Keane is fine and Defoe is on his way.

I think they might keep Defoe and Keane as they've sold Mido and Jol has always insisted he wanted 4 top strikers to compete.

Keane is a much better player than Bent anyway so I wudnt be too worried. Bent is just another Heskey but with less strength

Keane will hold his own. Jol clearly rates him.

If depends on who Jol starts at the beginning of the season. You would think after spending all that dough that Bent and Berbatov would be starting against Sunderland. But I think Keane has proved he works well with Berbatov and would be surprised if he dosen't start more games than Bent. On a side note If Spurs don't get into the top 4 this year then its goodbye Martin Jol. Over-rated keeper and poor defense.

Agree, assume they pay 14 million for Bent, doubt they'll get 8 million for Defoe, so they'll be down 6 mill and have swapped one average striker for another, if anything I think Defoe is a better player.

im sure it will depend on pre-season. also they may play a different way, keane is good behind 2 forwards and can also play on the left, i can see him starting most games form permitting

Defoe will go leaving Bent & Keane to fight it out to play alongside Berbatov. Should be plenty of games available to rotate all three. If Keane & Bent can prove they can play together will be valuable as Berbatov can be rested.

The market places a premium of proven Premiership players who are english. The Englang squad is hardly bursting with forwards so if Bent establishes himself there his value will increase.
