Keane was magic lastnite he won the game in the first half for spurs, more of that in stuttgart nd i can see us score a goal or two, i know the germans will be a different kettle of fish to sheff utd but we all know Robbie is capable of this against world class defenders aswell, also the germans have very average centre backs.

I think if he can play like this against Germany we have a great chance. The problem sometimes is that with Ireland he is not encouraged to drop deep as we need him to get goals also. But when he is on this form he is almost unplayable.
Well the reason we were relying on him to get the goals was because he was playing alongside Morrisson and now maybe, just maybe, (hopefully!!! ) Kevin Doyle can shoulder some of that burden and allow Keane to influence the game more for us. I honestly think that playing with Keane deep is our best chance of getting something from Stuttgart...

Yeah I know that was the reason. Many times people at LR would be shouting at keane as he was dropping deep, because we wanted him so much to be in the box and scoring goals cause if he didnt do it there were not many other alternatives. Even Duff or our central midfielders dont have a great goal scoring record.

I think Keane dropping deep and dictating the play with Duff and Mc Geady on either wing and Reid and O Shea behind him could certainly work in Germany.

Wow watching the hightlights of the spurs game at the moment, keane was absolutely top quality.. I wonder if it he played that role against germany and morrison played the berbatov role would it work?

i read on the metro ( london metro ) on the way into work this morning, and it said he was involved in everything for spurs, and any good thing that came was setup by him. but what they did say was "robbie keane was in for the injured Defoe", surely at this stage everyone knows he is ahead of defoe in the pecking order?!?! plus defoe came on for him in the 82nd minute so what the fcuk are they on about?!!

It's not that simple or Biased, the coach is Dutch he doesn't give a flying ---- where the players are from, that's why Defoe missed the Wrold Cup because Keane & Mido kept him out of the Spurs side.

Defoe started on Saturday because RK had a knock in pre-season (why he missed the Holland game) Defoe was doubtful for last night because of a bruised foot picked up on Saturday.

Jol doesn't like playing them together (all though he did it a few times last season) so it's a case of whoever's in form / fitter etc...

Keane was tiring last night and should have come off a wee bit earlier but because Defoe wasn't 100% either he stayed on longer.

YOu have missed my point, THe london metro is English therefore that is why it described Keane replacing the injured Defoe it as such. Its audience was English therefore its content was more English based.

I think the real reason is
Defoe Started on Saturday, picked up a knock not 100%
Keane brought in to replace him in starting XI
Therefore the simple conclusion is 'Defoe injured, Keane relacing him' and if you read the Metro you should know the demographic they're after like simple answers.

Would I be right in saying that the bohs crest is there to see if people will have a different attitude to your views if they think you are a bohs/ el fan?

Back on Thread Robbie was fantastic last night and if Staunton can maximise him he can be our best player in my view.
