I've been a critic in the past, but I'll hand it to him, he has upped his game a couple of notches. His all round game has gotten better in the last 6 months, from dribbling, to shooting, to passing, creating space and chances for others. He is a constant threat.
Pity the little ****** didn't hit this vein of form during the WC qualifying campaign and put a couple past the Swiss and Isrealis.
My one criticism of him still is that he doesn't score against top clubs. Can't remember many goals from him aganst Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool etc etc. Would love to see him break that duck against Arsenal on Saturday.

He scored a header last season against Liverpool at Anfield.

You are right. He scored the winner against Arsenal at Highfield Road in the 1999/2000 season. The same week, he scored against Chelsea also. He also scored from the penalty spot to equalise against Arsenal in 2004. Apart from Man U, I can't think of a top flight team that he hasn't scored against in recent years.Originally Posted by Paulie

Obviously the top clubs don't concede a lot of goals in the first
place and he won't be playing in a role where he gets many scoring
opportunities in such matches.
Spurs play Arsenal next and he will probably get a hat-trick on
current form!
Lets hope he does.

When talking about form, you must also consider the defensive form of Arsenal. Robbie Keane is unlikely to score on Saturday against Arsenal.

Nothing is unlikely with this man. Again today, the Irishman proved his class. 16 Premiership goals for the season. He'd have scored against United last Monday as well if it wasn't for the game being played within 48 hours of Spurs' previous game. I really hope Spurs qualify for the CL because no player deserves it more than Robbie.

I thought he might score, he is on fire at the moment, shame I didn't

It was a bit contraversial though but that was just sour grapes from Wenger
as no one was seriously injured, Robbies movement was world class.
It was a well taken goal. His movement off the ball was superb.
He's just playing so well and he's contributing a lot more than just scoring goals. Now if only Andy Reid could get his game...

They may not need it. 7 points ahead of Arsenal who have 3 games left.Arsenal better goal difference. Spurs play West Ham who will rest their players for FA Cup Final. I think a draw will be enough for Spurs as would mean Arsenal need 3 wins.

Did anyone see BBC's MOTD on Sunday? Linker asked Hansen & Lawrenson if Defoe is good enough for England's WC squad. Both Hansen & Lawrenson were critical of Defoe's lack of "predatory instinct". By contrast they praised Robbie in this regard.
They showed half a dozen clips of Robbie making excellently timed runs into the 6 yard box to knock in a square ball. You could see just how well Robbie (a) attacked the space and (b) timed his run, letting the defender think he had him marked before making the run.
They also showed Defoe dealing with the same position & he just hung at the far post, a major failing in a striker with international ambitions, despite his ability in other aspects.
Lawrenson noted that this is something that Robbie has learnt to do & is a recent addition to his game. Testimony yet again to Robbie's attitude this year & how he has made important steps.
I thought it was very intreresting and also very encouraging from our point of view. Nobody delivers that kind of ball across the box better than Duff. On the topic of Duff, Paul Rowan in The Times criticises Mourinho for playing Duff too early after an achiles problem, implying that this injury, and Duff unquestioning conforming to Mourinho's demands, was a major factor in Duff's form this year.
Keane was superb in one of the best number 10 performances I have seen in the Premiership in a long time. It was only Sheff Utd he was playing but he ran the show playing beautiful passes and basically controlling the game the way a number 10 can. I think if he can play like this against Germany we have a great chance. The problem sometimes is that with Ireland he is not encouraged to drop deep as we need him to get goals also. But when he is on this form he is almost unplayable.
