according to the beeb, he might still join Everton today. Seems unlikely, unless Spurs have someone lined up too as a replacement.

Mido's red card has not been rescineded, so I guess it all depends on whether they can agree a deal with that Italian striker from Livorno. Surprised Celtic haven't made a move .. as he did say he would love to play for them.

Mido was charged with violent conduct hopefully that will ad a couple of supenssions leaving only two strikers.
Although Jol will probably play with five in the middle seen as the have about twenty midfielders.

Keane still not signed. Robbie Keane could switch to Everton, while the Londoners are considering bringing in Cristiano Lucarelli from Italian side Livorno.

Here's Paul Doyle's take on the above:

Everton's David Moyes, meanwhile, is after a forward who can be relied upon to bang in 25 goals a season, but may have to settle for Robbie Keane, who can normally be relied upon to perform embarrassing primary school tumbles about 12 times a season. That deal will only go through, however, if Spurs can persuade Livorno to accept an improved bid for striker Cristiano Lucarelli.

If I saw Paul Doyle on the street I'd bloody murder him. Is he actually Irish? He gives every Irish player stick. I wrote him a long e-mail after his article on the Ireland-Israel game and the idiot hadn't the decency to reply.

The *****e use to write for the Sunday Tribune, same ****e. He inspires a much more violent reaction from me than just murder, starting with a tar and feathering.

I got slated on here before for offering my honest opinion on Robbie Keane but i will do again,I don't he is not a great player,he is a fairly average player. He is our best striker at the moment(Not too hard when that stocking of sh*te,Morrison is your biggest rival for that title) but so long as he is our best striker we will never ever, even have a chance of winning anything

Well.... he's going to hammer the Irish goalscoring record by the time is done.
Granted Ireland have never produced "world class strikers", so what you're saying is a bit harsh!

yeah, and if we sign Henry then we could win loads of stuff.

I know that was not your point, but we're hardly all in this to expect to be winning World Cups and Euro Championships. Maybe we could fluke it some time like Greece and Denmark .. and with a bit of luck we might have got the Carlsberg Ad final last time around.

But what good does it do to be constantly getting on Keane's back, or offering "honest criticism/opinion " as a lot of Irish fans seem to be increasingly doing. He's our best striker ever .. and I know its annoying that he doesn't seem to be fulfilling the full potential he showed as a 17 year old (as in playing for one of the top 4 teams and scoring 25 goals a season) but he has done well, especially for us ... he had some bottle to take the responsibility of taking a penalty in the 90th minute to keep us in the World Cup.

Whereas I can sort of understand criticising millionaire club players, who might not be arsed sometimes making the effort and deserve criticism from the paying public, I think when it comes to your country, we should be supporters in the true sense of the word when a player is working his ****** off for the honour of his country. (not like e.g. Phil Babb's performance against Scotland in his last game for Ireland .. I'm sure there might be a couple of more)

[QUOTE=Anto McC]I got slated on here before for offering my honest opinion on Robbie Keane .........

Anto is totally right Robbie Keane is just a little above average thats all he ever will be. Ok so he is our top scorer but when you compare his record to any other wold class striker its below average. I know im going to get slated too but Robbie Keane will never be top class he is the best striker we have but can you see a scoreline like Republic of Ireland 8 - 0 Malta
16 November 1983 with Robbie Keane as your top striker he scores lucky jammy goals thats all i will remember him for

If its a top class team you want to support then why don't you support Brazil? They have some top class strikers there. You'll always be in with a chance of supporting a winning team too.

As for Robbie playing in that Euro Championship qualifier in 1983, well, that would have been some feat score in that game seeing that he was about three or four at the time.

you have to look at it in context , sure he might be just a little above average in english premiership but in irish terms , and i presume by green army girl that you are actually irish , then he is head and shoulders our best so why not get behind him instead of slagging him.

Because the Irish are never happy unless they're moaning about something. Connolly, Robbie, Harte, O'Shea, Kilbane and others are all wnakers because they're not world class, like we've any right to expect them all to be. And we're gonna get stuffed by the French too. I wonder does Fr. Stone post on this forum.

This is what is wrong with Irish people i am as big a supporter of the irish team as you are i love my team and my country and if the irish could take constructive criticism maybe we would have a better team like Brazil

Obviously when i was talking about 1983 it was hypothetically speaking.
