Growing up in Dublin I had a pal whose surname was Heneghan. He pronounced his family name / surname differently to his father who grew up in Galway (Hennigan versus Heenehan). Ridiculous but true.

Heneghan is a roscommon/mayo name.

Hannigan, or hennigan or hevigan are galway names(and you often have *******isation of heneghan to the former. They are not the same as heneghan. Your friend was confused I imagine. Growing up in Dublin could do that to anyone really.

Frank Stapleton rolling back the years to play in goal for the Galaxy won't do much to dispel the notion that the MLS is something of a retirement home though.
