He hasn't just scored against second rate teams either or in friendlies - unless you're calling away to Holland in a WC qualifier a second rate affair.
In all fairness Larssons a one off and Keane would be much better off staying in the premiership (Unless someone from abroad came up with a good offer), but it looks like he'll stay at Spurs.
Kinda hard to play when injured Peadar, that was a pretty lame post by your standards. A move to celtic may not necessarily be a bad thing for keane, the lower standard might actually help him build his confidence.Originally Posted by Peadar
He is the best that we have and that is the worrying thing, he won't worry very many international class defenders, most likely will leave Spurs this summer for a team at the lower end of the premiership or maybe even Scotland though I couln't see himn shifting Hartson or Sutton...Originally Posted by Kevin77

That must be news to the international class defenders he's raked up his record beating goals talley by the age of 24 againstOriginally Posted by Condex
Robbie Keane is a top class Striker but he is going through a bad patch at the moment, he seems unhappy a Spurs but who can blame him he's not getting matches.. He has been unsettled since the start of the season and that can put anyone off..
I think a move would be the best thing for him, someplace where he will get regular first team games, and if that is to be at Celtic I see no problem with it.. Celtic are a great team and he will get the chance to play in Europe..
Things can't really be any worse for him than they are at the moment
Quote Eirebhoy.....you'd be suprised. Keane is rated higher than Duff in most countries.
That would be Roy I assume...
From Today's Guardian Rumour Mill:
Left on the bench on Saturday, the man with possibly the weakest goal celebration in football stormed down to the dressing-room and is believed to have held a pout for at least two whole hours.
Hard to disagree with that bit!
What ever about Robbie keanes talents in front of goal he has a lot of growing up to do. Be it from storming off down tunnels to moaning to referees for 90 minutes about injustices carried out against him, he needs to redirect his energies into his performance rather than blaming someone else all the time.
Who is this guy, Trapper Tony?

Fair enough, Irelands top marksman and all that....but he was useless against Isreal and wasn't even in the China game. Enclosed is a better team until he finds international form.
1. Shay Given
2. Steven Carr 5. Kenny Cunningham 4. Andy O'Brien 3. John O'Shea
7. Steve Finnan 6. Roy Keane 8. Kevin Kilbane 11. Andy Ried
10. Clinton Morrison 9. Damo Duff
anyone agree??????
If you were going to play that formation, I'd have Reid up front and Duff on the left, or Reid and Duff flanking Morrisson, á la Chelsea.
Why the need to start another Robbie Keane post?? Just leave the chap alone for now until he at least gets his form back or settles down a little at spurs.Robbie is an inconsistant complaining cart wheeler who is our best striker at present and will do the business for us in June.
I disagree purely in the basis that Reid (Andy) isn't ready for a full 90 minutes of International football against decent opposition.Originally Posted by Chris Ronaldo

This is the oldest argument on this forum, why does it still puzzle people? We don't have any better options up front. There is no one available who could do a better job upfront than Robbie. He's hot and cold but he's the best striker we have. I don't worship the bloke like some here but he's a good player and just needs a proper run of form. End of story, no?
Damien Duff, for the love of God, is not a forward and never has been. Mick McCarthy's worst legacy is that we think Duff is a versatile winger cum striker. He is an attacking midfielder out and out. Putting him upfront is wasting him.
Agreed - forget about Robbie. He's been covered elsewhere.
The main choice now seems to be between O'Brien and Dunne. The former apparently, didn't see it myself, had a stinker against Villa at the weekend and is forever being slated on Newcastle boards. Dunne now seems to be the better bet, remembering his heroics against Holland etc at home in the last qualifying campaign.

NO!! How many times does Duff have to be a complete waste of space as a forward before people stop suggesting he plays in that role?Originally Posted by Chris Ronaldo
We've got one of the best wingers in Europe so why use him as anything other than a winger?
If either of our wide men is equipped to play further forward I'd say it's Reid, as he did in Paris after Clinton went off.
