Robbie looking set to sign for Villa on loan, according to RTÉ: http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2012/...la_galaxy.html
Robbie Keane is on the verge of moving to Aston Villa on a two-month loan deal according to reports this morning.
The Irish Daily Star claims that Keane's club LA Galaxy, who are out of season at the moment, are willing to release the Republic of Ireland captain for a short time once an agreement can be put in place.
It's being reported by the press association and most papers have picked up on the story.
However this time the shoe is on the other foot, apparently it has always been the dream of Villa to sign Robbie, ever since he was ready to leave Wolves.
He might be having second thoughts. At the end of the day MLS preseason preparations start in January, so the only difference would be whether he was playing in England or training in the U.S., he wouldn't be getting "time off" as such. Most players would rather play competitive matches I think when it comes down to it than do fitness work.
As strange as it sounds he might get a lesser workload at Aston Villa as at this point in the season you'd imagine the training sessions are fairly light given the congested schedule.

The Club can confirm that Robbie Keane will train with the First Team squad up until January 20 in order to build up his fitness ahead of returning to LA Galaxy for the start of the new MLS season.
He has been back in north London for a while now so I gather he has been training with them already.
moving to villa doesn't surprise me at all,we all know robbie loves playing, the whole talk of not joining was probably more to do with saving face as much as anything else.
I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
Think its a nothing story, the fact that he's training at Spurs will always lead to speculation that he's willing to go on loan with someone. Didn't Beckham do the same last season and wind up not going on loan to anyone?
Liverpool could do with a decent striker for a couple of months.
Fuppin hell, do you write for the Herald!

KENNY Dalglish could turn to Robbie Keane in a desperate bid to fill the huge gap left by Luis Suarez's eight-match ban.
Just call me Paul in future.
