More like they were giving him a bigger amount to go quietly. According to the BBC he was given the "resign or be sacked" ultimatum on Sunday, and have been negotiating the deal since apparently.Originally Posted by pete

From what I was reading the deals on the table for either option (resignation or dismissal) were quite similar and possibly identical.

They don't have a good squad. Very very average. Throughout the league you have players not good enough for their international sides playing in key positions for the top English sides (Leo Cullen, Jeremy Staunton etc)
