    Jim Walsh R.i.p.

Jim Walsh formerly of Rathfarnham United, Womens Soccer team which he founded in 1970 and ran until it folded in 2004, died of cancer sadly earlier this week.

Jim who also ran a men's soccer team in the winter, was very devoted to the women's game. Rathfarnham under his tutelage, enjoyed tremendous success winning numerous WFAI Cups the most recent of which was in 1995 when they defeated College Corinthians in a final which was held at the Amateur League on Oscar Traynor Road. His funeral took place this morning .

There was a minutes silence for Jim Walsh at today's W.F.A.I. Quarterly Council meeting. He was a former president of the Ladies Football Association of Ireland and was also Chairman of the Leinster Ladies League which in 1994 merged with the Civil Service Ladies League to form the Dublin Women's Soccer League. Ar dheis dé go raibh a anam.
