    Thumbs up Great Performance

From the fans tonight...best atmosphere and support in years, now if we could just work on some variety!

Must say, I was in the Upper East Stand and the atmosphere was excellent, although some empty seats around us.

The Stand Up For The Boys In Green, is excellent when the whole stadium gets involved. Well done all!! and keep up good work.

Brilliant atmosphere. I was on the north terrace with the Czech fans but you could still feel and hear it from there. The Czech fans were good fun but they don't have anymore variety in their chants than we do. Same couple over and over again.

First time i was in the east upper and i have to say from there lansdowne doesnt look half bad, best view ive ever had as well. Atmosphere was class last night, exceptional night, its just a shame we didnt get the win we all deserved.

It's not down to Sky as they just get a feed from RTE. RTE should be putting more mics around the crowds.

The West Stand has a pulse........

Reports of her death greatly exagerated, a throw back to the old days, chants actually starting in the West Stand.Did the suits off load their tickets because ROI aren't sexy anymore?

Before the game I was fearing the worst- crap atmosphere, crap performace, crap everything. When I began to walk down Landsdowne Road I immediately sensed a real buzz from the crowd and began to feel a sense of optimism. Inside the crowd were really up for it, and the reaction from the players at the end really meant something as well.

Alot of posters on hear like to slag off Ireland fans for not having many chants and singing 'cabaret' songs.
But the truth is no international following has many chants.
Any international match I go to or watch on tv seems to have a limited number of chants repeated throughout the game
The reasons I believe are that domestic league fans are together week in week out (normally seated in the same stand next to the same person) and also develop more rivalries between their teams (which is what they sing about most).
Any form of vocal support must lift the team, be it repetitious or not.

Agreed. I got a laugh out of the Czechs. One of their chants every time they got the ball in our third of the pitch was Please Give Us a Goal. Very polite people the Czechs.
