    2. Green Stars – Effortless Dub

    3. Bob Marley – Natural Mystic

    4. Seu Jorge – Carolina

    5. The Coup – Laugh Love F**k

    7. Paul Weller – Above the clouds

    8. Handsome Boy Modelling School – Breakdown

    9. Karminsky Experience - Exploration

some terrific stuff in here, major surprise though has to go to superfrank only picking one funkadelic song.. but what a song!

i dunno.. for what it's worth, mostly listen to whole albums rather than tracks:

confusion/gentleman - fela kuti (superfrank do yourself a favor and check him if you haven't already!)
a wizard, a new star - todd rundgren
the galaxies' incredible sensual transmission field of the tower recordings - tower recordings
it's magnificent but it isn't war - cold bleak heat
tuning to the rooster - vibracathedral orchestra

colleague has just given me mmj's Z so i think i'll turn it today. keep it rolling

Of course if it was any Funkadelic song, it'd have to be "Maggot Brain".

As for Fela Kuti, thanks for the tip. I've heard some of his stuff, like "Zombie". It sounds ok. The only jazz I really like is Sun Ra.

sun ra, cool. zombie is good but fela's got more/better funk from my experience. he came to the states and incorporated james brown and reggae styles into what is now known as (nigerian) afrobeat. yea some songs are like an album long but your bootsy collins lovin' self would defo appreciate the a$$ shaking bottom end of a lot of fela's stuff. total stoned groove
