nice one i'll check some of it if i can, and thanks. - p.s. dunno if you know this one but a great album that dovetails nicely with bonnie b's best work is songs: ohia's "electric magnolia co." - fantastic record, dark neil young-type rustbelt rockers, eerie folk, mournful ballads.. similar to oldham's voice and actually the similarity extends to subsequent career output as well in that head-guy jason molina hasn't produced anything remotely as good as this record since.

I am very much a fan of this stuff! I listened to the teasers and I'll be downloading it this evening!
***Edit - Just looking at it there again and see that Scout Niblett is a guest on it, her album "This Fool Can Die Now" is nothing short of epic, 4 duets with Will Oldham himself...also well worth a look

Yeah I love that sort of duelling sound they have, almost organic, sinewy intertwining lines. [/pretension]
They swap over and back with the lead and rhythm too, or sometimes twin lead, even to the point of putting on the cover notes who plays what solo, which is sort of endearing.
To me Verlaine in particular has a really distinctive way of playing - I'm sure some proper musicians on here could put their finger on what it is, scales or tunings or summat - but I've not heard anything like it since.
Would recommend Adventure as well, not as consistently good, but some great stuff on it, and apart form Marquee Moon itself probably has the best example of that interlinking guitar sound on Glory.
