That's my point, will they get full home support for every game. They will for the big games but against the smaller clubs???

I see Pats announced their highest ever uptake on Season tickets. I wonder what the uptake is for Bohs this year with the additional capacity??

Was just about to post this. That was a couple weeks ago too, so it might be even higher by the time the season starts.

I didn't see that announcement, its great news and bodes well for the future also a projected indicator to the capacity required in the new stadium

All Bohs games will be sell outs , save for no shows

Brilliant, it's great to see the increase in support and not just for Bohs but for other clubs too.

who'd have thought we'd get to a stage in the LOI where some stadium capacities are insufficient and holding clubs back

Can't say for certain but I think the height of that stand in Dalymount will be the same as what's proposed for the modular structures in the new Harps ground.

Given that the Dalymount terrace will hold 450 and is 23m length and the terraces at Harps are set to hold 1,400 across the width of a pitch.

I've been in the modular stands at Crusaders. They're not as nice underfoot as concrete but they do seem to represent a genuine opportunity to improve grounds at a lower cost. I'd wonder will we see a few more over the next few years. A shelter and an unobstructed view isn't a bad way to watch a football match.

Same lads building the stand in Dalymount are the lads working on the new Harps ground too. Certainly a similar structure, possibly a similar size. Meant to be incredible in terms of atmosphere.

Ha ha .... so not even third biggest in the league.

That's a strange post Pateen. As we all know, the capacity of grounds like Dalymount is what it is. Even when the council redevelop the place it'll still have a smaller capacity than Turner's Cross (and it'll prove insufficient over time IMO). That's just the way it is in the league. Cork may consider themselves lucky to have a landlord that does everything for you - though God knows Cork football has played in enough grounds over the years (and lost some of them too in the process).

So are Derry going ahead with their plans for an away stand?

No word on a temporary stand for this season, but last we heard big Phil was talking about a permanent structure for the start of next season would make any temporary structure going in this season unlikely.

ETA: would be unlikely to be an away section. Though would probably have to incorporate the existing curve somehow

Just noticing they’re putting extra home terracing at Dalymount next season aswell, sure to be the odd away fan undercover there next season with the reduced capacity away end! Good job anyway….

Looks good , i understand going for the size they did with the ground to be redeveloped , but pity they could'nt have gone for maybe 800 capacity. Be good to see three sides of the stadium in use .

I wonder could Pats do something like that at the Shed End ? Would there be enough room ?

Or at least they would have liked to be under cover!! Would’ve liked to see a temporary roof over the school end.
