Brandywell update. Nothing like a good panic.

Where did anyone get the idea that you would get 3 to 6 weeks of dry weather at this time of the year 🤣

Or any time of the year.
You'd imagine that it'll be fine, sure Dundalk's pitch was laid last winter. Doubt that we won't get in any pre-season friendlies played there just.
Have you ever won the treble?

It would have been nice to get in a couple of friendly games just to iron out any problems.

I'm not sure you should iron plastic-based fabrics.

Rumour above but ring of truth about it. No Irish Govt it seems can announce funding for a publicly owned community stadium without also announcing a bail out for a privately owned GAA vanity project. All seater stadium in Navan ffs.

Crazy stuff all right, Similar to the 160(?) mill project down in Cork for a stadium that will be filled once a year.

It's been said a thousand times, but i'll say it again - any stadium that's been built/rebuilt with public funds should be a multi-purpose sports facility.

Not as crazy as the proposal to rebuild Casement Park in Belfast as a 34,000+ seater stadium - for a county who currently gets crowds of about 300 at their games. A white elephant in the calving.

I was about to get all outraged myself and then I read that total cost would be 9 million euros for a 22,000 seat stadium and thought "that actually seems like really good value for money"

No to mention that Irish taxes would be building stadiums in another, soon to be non-European state. There are a lot better candidates for that money, not just in sporting circles.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

Good to se the spirit of partition alive and well on Foot.ie You'll make a DUP MP very proud with that sentiment.

Can you clarify precisely what southern tax money would be going to the Casement project ? Simply saying 'We gave the GAA some government money, and they're putting some money into Casement Park, so therefore Casement must be getting some ROI tax funding' won't cut the mustard on this I'm afraid. Especially as the main funder for the project is Stormont. Thanks.

Is making a DUP MP very proud supposed to be a slight on the poster? Good to see the spirit of inclusive respect for all is also alive and well on foot.ie

I have more issue with tax payers money being spent on the Navan project than Casement Park tbh.

Nah, they've already made some improvements on the away end in Oriel sure!

Do the DUP do sentiment. I thought they only done rhetoric.

Anyway. Is it Stormont paying for it? Fair enough I didn't know that. I just assumed funding was coming from the GAA Headquarters which get a nice chunk from government.

This will almost make TC the complete stadium, only been once but always got the feeling its probably the only LOI ground that has an almost replica feel to a League 1 style stadium in England, covered stands on all four sides and a perfect location in the city.

Has the roof being fully repaired in the Derrynane stand ? I think I saw photos before it had?

Looking forward to seeing progress in Tallaght when the 3rd stand gets up and running, hopefully it will be ready just in time for our EL group games in September !

Dundalk's new owners meeting the fans on Sun night, details of new away end and improved selection of crisps and minerals to follow.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).

All a bit vague if you ask me. The devil is in the detail and away fans won’t be happy unless there are major improvements to the match day experience. I mean what are we taking about here? King, Tayto..? Minerals could mean anything. Big difference between Spar Cola and the real stuff. I for one won’t be holding my breath, well maybe, cause half way through this post I got Tayto on the brain and now there is a bang of Cheese and Onion off me. Just another thing for me to hold against you!
