What I heard said was that there would be an announcement, not explicitly that building would be starting in weeks.

I don't think anybody is more frustrated than Harps fans and committee at this project. While it's been said at a press conference AGAIN that work will soon progress, I'll not be holding my breath.
The re-bar inside the concrete structure may be compromised if it hasn't been weather proofed for the last few years. That said I'd be shocked if it wasn't Ok to be used unless it wasn't done right in the first place.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

    It'll definitely need a run with a power-washer and a brush..

Does anyone have any news on whether the Brandywell be re-opening? I heard this week there was a good chance it might be ready for the Dundalk game on 2nd March.

No word on the Brandywell yet, I'm afraid. I suspect nobody really knows.

Surely 8 days before the game is due to take place, somebody has to know.

Cant see it been changed to Oriel at this late stage (There's a local game in Oriel fixed that night, i know this could be moved easily but was only announced yesterday so Dundalk must have gave them clearance it would be free)

I'd be very surprised if Dundalk agreed to a switch it and not just at this late stage, would mean 3 Fri night games in a row at home.

Its tomorrow week now, surely Derry need to make a call on this today / tomorrow ?

I was down today and the goal posts were up. All the lines are on the pitch (18yd box, penalty spot etc,) and looked like 3 guys in suits with hard hats on having a meeting on the pitch. All the new turnstiles are good to go, cctv camera's all over the ground installed. The roads all around the ground have been tarmaced and I have to say it's looking really nice. The new Mark Farren stand looks good to go too.

Imho I reckon it's definitely good to go for the Dundalk game.

Sounds promising. But does it have its public license yet ?

Definitely does sound like the Dundalk game will go ahead, but would be great to get confirm of this over the weekend. I don't think they have any other option at this late stage but to ensure it is ready.

Really looking forward to the trip up now, good few of us staying over (hopefully!)

Not sure, but you'd probably imagine it'll be close to it. I don't know how many standing spaces there are now.

Can any Waterford fans talk about the upgrades at the St Anne's end of Turner's Cross?

I see the club run by supporters now want to charge those supporters to sing.

Not sure about the implementation but good to see clubs trying things. For big games the day trippers can sometimes dilute the vocal fans and reduce the noise and this is one way to make sure the people who want to make noise are all together.
