Temporary stand now confirmed for oriel park. Going in behind 'away goal' and will be in place for the EA Sports Cup Final.

Should be available for last 3 league games, personally I'd leave it in place until we play in Europe next season, but there will probably be planning and access restrictions.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

Surely there's some way to make it one of those temporary permanent structures, ala Bray and Wexford.

While on the topic I suppose. Past Harps new stadium yesterday. They're working away on the admin block of the building with the outside walls being built at the minute. Hopefully get some updated pictures in the next week or two.
Sure just throw up some pictures from Tallaght around 2008.

I'd say there'd be cost issues as well.

It's ok, Rovers have kindly offered to pick up any costs involved in installing the temporary stand.

Temporary stand being called the "Sham Stand" as a way of saying thanks for the financial contribution from Shamrock Rovers.

Sure that's lovely of them, no doubt they'll help with the dismantling of it as well! Rovers fans, a great bunch of lads.

I have always loved our dear and benevolent leader and feel that the level of remuneration he receives, is not alone justified but actually less than he deserves. All hail to the Delaney!

So let me get this right. Bohs and shels get a new ground, no debt and almost rewarded for their financial mismanagements and poor leadership ala Rovers

Wouldn't be surprised if the FAI and/or the Council end up owning the new Dalymount and renting it to Bohs and Shels.

Well we have continued to service our debts as is reasonably within our means. We dont have the luxury of welshing on our debts by re-formimg under some other corporate structure.

You'd think after Gareth Kelleher helped the FAI pay off some of their debts they would have given us the free stadium.

Dalymount is the "soul of Irish football".

It would annoy me if Bohs and Shels benefited from their attempt to destroy LOI football over the last twenty years. However, I would stomach it, if it meant Dalymount was saved and restored to being a stadium fit for it's legacy.

I'd agree 100% with this. I know we're all partisan football fans, and we don't want any of our competitors getting an edge, but Dayler needs to be saved, and it needs to be restored. It should be the premier League of Ireland stadium in this country.

For one moment I have to say El-P i thought there was going to be a grumble by a Cork fan re the redevelopment of an(other) Dublin club's ground. But fair play the sentiment that Dalymount holds does actually reach Leeside...now if only the Leinster FA or somone recognised Oriel and it's history and chipped in with a few quid

Would love to see Dalymount done up. Properly fixed up, it has the potential to host international friendlies once more. Farcical games like Oman would be much better served in front of a packed out 10,000 capacity Dalyer than an empty Aviva. Couple of million quid could make it into a superb ground once more.

Plans? Along with planning permission, they have been used to fudge licences for some clubs for years.
