How do Derry City feel about this? The time when both leagues overlap will definitely have the pitch cut up a bit with the weather at those times of year. Dont think it will hack it. I think the council will go for the cheapest option and will not improve either ground.
Sure its been happening at Tolka for years. Also happened in United Park and Monaghan for a season or so

why cant they play in institute's ground across the river? it would be a better size for them like the brandywell is a bit big and rent should be bigger than institute's ground, which has gotten small improvements recently

No offence whatever to the good people who run both clubs etc, but it may be that for historical reasons etc, Oxford and their fans etc may feel more "comfortable" in the Cityside/Brandywell, than in the Waterside/Drumahoe, (though I am entirely open to correction on this by more knowledgeable Derry folk)
Oxford play some games in the Waterside at present, Wilton park.
Oxford supposedly asked 'Stute about a groundshare some time ago and where told where to go. And not long after 'Stute' permitted a team from Castlederg to use their ground.
And as far as Oxford having fans
i was thinking about that too but when i read that they play in the irish league still, i presumed they might be on that side of the divide. I guess there is no other football grounds on the bogside of the river with a pitch perimmiter & small terrece/seats.

Work is progressing buy VERY slowly, the company building the stadium is working on a different project and is taking fill from that to the new ground, its really frustrating but hopefully it will not be halted too much.Do you know anyone that can confirm this? Digging of foundations was ongoing last week. It's being built in sections off site, then assembled on delivery. I think they've put the finish date back to August now.

I was there in April and there were making foundations. The new stand was expected to be completed in time for the Summer break but is now expected to be officially opened for the game against Derry City on Saturday 1st August.

Ten years and it'll be in bits. And thats not an attack on Rovers fans/Tallaght locals/anything; but just experience... ten years of not particularly spirited support on a large 'permanent prefabricated' stand in a slightly better climate (Brighton) and the row beds are flexing horribly - it'll only take one more big game with lots of people jumping in the stand for someone to go through...
