city should really switch the camera to the other side of the ground, would look much better on TV, the jodi always looks well on telly.
easwily the best ground in the el.We are hoping to start work on our new stand in early January with a finish date of late May if it looks half as good as yours we will be delighted. The seats in the old stand will be replaced leaving over 3500 seats in the ground with both ends to be developed eventually.

I agree with what you're saying but the problem with that is that the roof of the Derrynane side (on the left in the 1st picture) comes all the way accross and the camera would have a few blind spots, whereas the current position in the Donie Ford side is set back a bit from the pitch and the roof doesn't cover the first five rows of seats.
The ground is looking very well BTW.
Looking forward to first game with new stand at the cross. Will make the ground a bit more compact & allow home fans to get close to keepers again
That's a pretty cool looking stand right enough.
Still think the cameras could and probably should be moved to the other side if a proper gantry was built on top of the existing stand though.

Forthcoming development work at The Showgrounds will see the demolition of ‘The Shed End’, which includes the old dressing-rooms, and the construction of a two-storey structure which will adjoin a revamped terrace area.
"Even if the sun ceases to rise, Even if the sea ceases to flow, Even if the wind stops to blow, The name of Sligo Rovers will shine and shine forever like the morning, glinting star in the sky."
Just passed the Rovers ground in Tallaght and couldn't help what might have been. Its a pity its taking so long to get over. Its just what the south of the county needs, a proper all seater ground. Stuck in the traffic was thinking of the grounds around the country and the on-going works. When all is said and done, there will be some lovely grounds in the country that will suit needs perfectly. Rovers and their 6000 (is that correct?) place in Tallaght, Bohs either in the new place or in Dalymount (I still believe that it could be a viable ground if things went pear shaped, and with a bit of cash injected).
Cork's ground will be super when finished, as will Athlone's. Then taking into account Sligo and Galway upgrading, there is enough grounds there to stage the likes of the Euro U21 championships. Lots of good work going on.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!
Even with current configuration Truners Cross already looks better than other grounds on tv. The current tv gantry is also large enough that can be used as tv studio so camera used for the game can also be used for the studio. Facilities may not be much but best in the league for live tv.
Lansdowne springs to mind there, niice to see a bit of open minded lateral thinking Peadar, Last season the x looked crap on tv (i know utd park is worse before you start) Tolka, dailyer, ritchmond and the brandywell all looked better yet turners cross is probably the better ground.
athlones stadium really starting to look impressive http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium..._athlone.shtml
