The new stands in Athlone and Sligo also look very like the Donie Forde in Turners X.

The architect for the original stand must be making a fortune in copyright fees

Jodi holds just under 2900, where as Athlone's is 2000.

The Athlone stand could do with some clear plastic at the sides to protect from the midlands winds. Looks very open on the sides.

Very impressive. Any pics of the rest of the ground? While you're at it you could put those on your website.

ya, thats what im wondering too. the old stand holds 1700 approx, so if we are to have 4,000 when the new one if complete, that means at least 2300 seats and if my memory serves me right, its not gonna run the full length of the pitch, and where are the the other 3000 seats going (4000->7000)?

    looks great!

I can't wait to see how many players are gonna run straight into the the goal net after coming out of the dressing room.

    Good point!

We may have to install those railings they have outside primary schools to stop kids running out on to the road!

Or maybe we won't and opposition players will injure themselves, thus aiding our plan to dominate world football

Drat .... our plans have been foiled again !!!
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

    from Ray Scott

Stand is behind schedule but out of our control - it is now down to the discussions between city council and Dept of Sport. The FAI are aware of the current status of the development as they are the fourth party in all of this as they are negotiating with Dep of Sport on level of grant aid. As for the floodlights, we know about the changes required and they are in the plan. It looks like th edevelopment of the new stand and other works will take place in two phases now and the work will be scheduled to ensure no disruption to games.
