It's fine, no complaints other than it'd be used to be able to go to the bar like we used to.
Is the car park restricted these days?

The car park isn't even open to home supporters. I'm not sure how important you have to be to be allowed use it. I haven't driven to a game since the bar opened!

Good news for Shels that they'll be allowed to play their conference league playoff game in Tolka. I'm assuming it's more to do with Uefa's leniency here rather than actual improvements made to the ground but it is a positive that there's a second ground in Dublin that's capable of hosting their clubs qualifying campaign.

Safe to assume it'll be Tallaght that'd host any league phase fixtures?

Why would UEFA be lenient? It either meets the requirements or it doesn't. Other clubs have had to move.

Strange one that - unless it does meet requirements of course. Still, always good to see Euro games played in the club's home ground

We got dispensation from them before for Viking game a couple of years back. Supposed to be in a ground with 4,500 seats for that round but think we only had 3,850 but they let us play

Read today that UEFA were impressed with Tolka Park in their recent european ties and decided to give them dispensation for hosting the conference league there. If they hadnt lost during the week it would have being in Tallaght.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

The work involves sealing the steps and replacing parts of the roof. Painting of all exposed steelwork with fire-resistant paint, electrical re-wiring, fire compartment containment, fire doors and addition of fire fighting equipment.
The stand will also be fitted with over 800 new quality seating. A hospitality area with a new cafe at the top of the stand which will now become a family friendly area.
The works are continuing and estimated costs are about €1 million.

This will eventually increase the Tolka Park safe capacity to approximately 6,500.
Anyone from Shels know when this will be completed by?

Galway Utd have scheduled drainage works next July and August and are looking to move into Pearse Stadium in Salthill for a few matches.

I think every other set of fans in the league will want to be one of the sides to play Galway away while they’re in a different ground purely for the novelty factor. If it happens of course. I’d imagine the alternative is getting the league to schedule away games only in those months, or else playing home games in Athlone maybe

Galway GAA and FAI have sanctioned it, Croke Park need to confirm it. Salthill in the sun is great craic. It'll be nice to watch from a proper terrace.

Salthill in the rain is pure misery, its colder and wetter than the Carlisle Grounds!

The wild atlantic wind will cause absolute chaos in Pearse Stadium. Its the great leveller. Expect scenes like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqCjX9rAZhI It will be interesting to see what crowds we could get. Its been decades since we've had the opportunity to play in a bigger stadium for an official match.

Yeh I've been to a few Gaelic games there, in March/April time during the league and by God if you think it's cold in Tallaght wait until you watch a game there on a cold day
