Brentford had to build a TV gantry at their old Griffin Park Stadium a few years back.

Since they knew they woiuld be moving stadium, they didnt want to spend money on what would be only a temporary arrangement, so they constructed a platform on scaffolding just in under the roof at the back of a stand (see above/behind the Bill Axbey banner):

Not sure how they got it past H&S etc, but the TV companies hated it, not least because in the absence of proper stairs etc, the camera operators had to climb a ladder and then haul their equipment up on ropes!

(Apparently the new stadium TV studio is state of the art.)

Great one there. RTE don't seem to know where the grounds are so how the fkcu would they know where to put a camera.

I found the dilapidated state of Dalymount a sad sight last night. The away end is in absolute tatters. Its a scandal that three of the top four clubs in Dublin are playing in run down kips in 2022.

Yeah , it's a sad state of affairs . At least with Pat's we can still use the four sides of the ground for domestic matches which is something i suppose .

    Very true.
Although on my trip to Tolka a couple of weeks ago I was pleasantly surprised at the improvements that had been made in recent times. It's MUCH improved from my previous visit a couple of years back. They clearly spruced the place up recently. But one thing that still looks awful there is the faded red/rust colour of the roofs of the stands on both sides of the pitch.
If they could manage to repair/repaint them both to match the bight red paint everywhere else it would actually look ok.
Still agree on your main point tho. They're way below par.

Chatting about Tallaght stadium on the other thread got me wondering, has there ever been mention of re-arranging the seats into a mixed pattern instead of the current blocks?

The return of the scoreboard by Dundalk, much bigger than the last one and a new spot too.

Was over at the women's game on Thursday and it was had to keep to your assigned seat due to the big crowd; whenever that's enforced it's like a game in the Crystal Maze trying to find your seat in the west and South stand if you're not a Rovers regular!

Are St Pat's meant to be doing some ground development announcement soon?

Last I heard was that they're lobbying the council to help them out with it - https://m.independent.ie/sport/socce...-41617002.html

Gone very quiet , I’d say the price increases for building work isnt helping our cause.

Has all the money been directed to Tallaght!

Maybe they just have to get in line behind Boh's and Daly or even Shel's at Tolka!

Naming rights for Tallaght Stadium are out to tender. I'm sure some on here have some good suggestions.

Best of luck having SDCC diverting funds to DCC to facilitate Tolka or Dalymount being upgraded/developed

I heard Queen's University are keen, and plan to call it Elizabeth Park.

No brainer to sell the naming rights especially when there isnt a well bedded in name generations old like Oriel or United Parks. I'd say if they were able Rovers fans would have had Milltown or Glenmalure Park tagged well prior to this (isnt one of the hospitality areas names after that old spot). It's all about making a few quid but a decent sponsor and long term deal and a new name would be established quick enough though is still tend to use Landsdowne. How about (sponsor's name) Beautiful Stadium!
