Maybe lissywollen/Glanmire/Roadstone/Sligo, and now Drogheda, template is the best way to go. Get a big space on the edge of your town/city and build a proper club base where your stadium and your whole academy can be based in the same hub.
in fairness to us its two and a half miles out of town and its in the country area. its actually shorter than from heuston station to connolly station!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

It's like the footage you see of the North Korean Supreme Leader, where everyone around him is clapping and cheering maniacally - as if their life depended on it.

John Delaney is Irish Football's Kim Il Quiff.

That’s three projects announced by the Fai which they won’t be putting a red cent into. Dalymount, the Mardyke development in Cork and now Drogheda . There has been no progress in the first 2 which were announced over 2 years ago.

Also on Bray Joeys take them over to ensure their underage teams have access to loi underage league.

If it ends up being as isolated as Flancare or Lissywoolen then its a backwards step and will harm the clubs growth.

I think its more likely than this stadium being built while any current loi player is still active. Include next years U13s as well.

We've been told we are waiting on an annoucement in the coming months for.... all year. There is a specific fund to be announced but I don't think there has been any news. Every month that passes my hope dies a little.

At the risk of saying something positive about the FAI. They have managed to get substantially debt free and co own a stadium that cost 400m to build. You'd have to hope with this particular monkey off their backs that more investment in the grass roots / league will be coming. It's still up to clubs to show they are worth investing in. Blaming the fai for everything is easy but they weren't responsible for bray or indeed bohs selling dalyer or rovers Miltown or the many clubs that have gone bust through the years due to bad admin.
If the fai don't start to deliver over the next few years when financially capable then let the revolution begin.

The FAI don't co-own the Aviva. They and the IRFU are co-lease-holders, which ends in 2040 I think, it then reverts to IRFU ownership.

Edit apologies, it reverts in 2060.

    Don't bring up the war!

Can't we have a truce while both are in Europe.
