I wish non Pats fan would drop the Tallaght sharing talk the vast majority would rather see the club fold first than see our club play at home in Tallaght Stadium & I live only five minutes from Tallaght stadium so this isn't blind anti Rovers/Tallaght talk. There is some heavy hitters involved in this project so let's see how it plays out.

    Will never happen unfortunately

Is there a scale model? I won’t believe it’s happening until I see a scale model.

I won't believe it's happening until I'm sitting in the new Stadum watching a match.

It looks nice, it won't happen.
    Here on a technicality.

    This.

A 12,000 seater ground seems pretty unnecessary really. Any reason given for such a large number? Would a better use not be to reduce the capacity and install more media and hospitality areas?
(requirements for Catergory 4 here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_stadium_categories) It could essentially become the ground for any future CL/EL group stage games.

One thing I'd add, which we seem to be losing sight of in ground redevelopments in this country, we're eliminating standing areas. I'd love to see a few safe-standing areas in our grounds.
Have you ever won the treble?

The RTE Article suggested Pat's could be playing in the new Stadium by 2022. What with the pace of Stadium and any other type of large construction in Ireland, 2,022 years should be enough time to complete the build.

id imagine they have suggested 12000 seat stadium so they can allow the planners scale them back from there.
The plan could be viable as the profits on the development of houses and apartments + retail + the value of the apartments/houses they could build on the old ground should be enough to build a stadium.
I guess the problem is that there is a history in this league of plans being announced that (could be) viable but which still never happen.

I agree with D24saint btw , no way would I want to see Pats sharing in Tallaght and the local Tallaght people wouldn't be happy when the plans for the new Methadone clinic come out

A scale model is no guarantee of anything.
I remember when Plonk Donovan had a scale model of the stadium in Bishopstown & we all know how that turned out

Is there a DVD (preferably featuring a Fatboy Slim track) ?

    I won't believe it's happening until I see a DVD.

Fairly ambitious plans there by Pat's, looks great. Though it makes you wonder why they don't seem to target UEFA Cat 4, when the capacity would be large enough for that and one would assume that the thing is designed with sufficient underground parking.

Any ideas how a "Phase 1" for this would look like? Single-storey building with a pitch and one or two stands on top?

I think we have found over the years that ownership of land for ground developments has been a bit of an issue. Nothing new here then...

I would love if pats could do it. It would be fantastic for the league in general.

From what I gather this is all in infancy stage but I don't understand the negativity from other other clubs.

Kelleher has always be described as a developer who wants his dirty mits on Richmond Park . He has owned the club for 12 years and seems as good a owner as the best of.them ie props them up financially when required.

The area needs development and pats want to be a part of it. It should be applauded

I think it’s more skepticism than negativity really. We’ve seen plenty of stadium plans that have come to nothing.

Without further detail we dont know but what happens to Richmond Park itself then as unless Ive misread the reports its is a rejuvenation development in Inchicore on DCC land. Sounds like a great project as many do if it does happen. But that would free Richmond up for a different development for Kelleher then, so mission accomplished. The new ground couldnt be a development on the Richmond Park parcel of land as surely its too small especially so close to The Camac that side?

I think the biggest stumbling block could be DCC unfortunately. There is already one (self professed "Pats fan") councillor making negative noises.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

Great plans, looks fantastic but won't happen unfortunately. However wouldn't it be great if this was the one to break the mould though. These types of plans are released so frequently one has to stick eventually I suppose
