Enough of The Letterkenny talk. Harps belong in Ballybofey as much as Sligo belong in Sligo and not Tubbercurry
I lost track of when work began. There is a committee in place for the stadium and a few new faces added who have, by all accounts, been very impressive and progress has been made.
It's extremely frustrating from a Harps point of view. Everyone at the club wants this.
FP would take huge money to get anywhere near up to scratch. Apart from the pitch (which is tough with the draining going out to the river) the changing rooms, seating, stand, media facilities, etc all need huge upgrade work also.
On the Letterkenny point, there was a "debate" in the 90's about moving to Letterkenny but it was never really taken on. I'm from Letterkenny, live in Letterkenny but wouldn't like to see the club move.
Small update on the Harps stadium tonight at the clubs awards night. Expecting a big announcement by February on the re-commencing of work, or something to that effect.

Could a name change be imminent "Twintown Harps" ?

Took me years to find out where they played in the days before the internet. You'd see a League of Ireland table in a year book, you knew which were Dublin teams, but were buggered trying to find out where Finn Harps were from.
Construction on 2,195 seater South stand to start next month. Should be completed by summer 2018. It's gonna be very big from looking at the plans, 20 rows.
Will bring the stadium up to Cat 4 status with regards capacity. (8,000 seats)
