Piece in Irish Indo today, and from local media that Kenny indicating Dundalk will be releasing news of the redevelopment of Oriel Park.

We've heard this many times before from the club, but it would appear now they have finally got a lot of the background work in place to kick things off.

    We shall see.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).

He mentioned something similar on LOI weekly today as well. Not in any detail though, just that there would be news soon. I think. I may have not been paying full attention.

I doubt it, especially with the early season start too. Dosen't make a difference, it will be empty anyway.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

Are they putting a roof on the new stand? And if so will it cover the front half of the seats.

From the graphics i looks like its the same build style as the east stand so it should go over all but maybe the first two or three rows

Hopefully it'll cover all of the rows. There seems to be a problem in Ireland with building a roof on a stand the only covers 3/4 of the rows. Croke Park, the Aviva and Tallaght have this issue. I can't understand how in a country that gets so much rain that the roof on new stands isn't designed to cover all the seats.

the prevailing wind is from the South generally so the roof will from a practical perspective cover most of the seats,
the problem in the other two stands generally is the rain is coming in from the sides (although the roof doesn't go out far enough anyway.

I agree with you considering we get so much rain we should be building roofs that go well out.

Probably worried about casting shadows and the grass growing too, at least on one side of the pitch. Primarily trying to squeeze out as much for the money though.

According to the Kildare Nationalist - "The damage was limited to a club office and shop. No one was in the premises at the time."

I may not agree with DCC’s methods but at least they’ve made a start.
