Dublin pitches suffered as a result of those flood a while back. I know ours was soggy up until a couple of weeks ago. Not bad now
Dalymount was poor yesterday. Seemed dry and bumpy. I believe Bohs train on it too. Lest I be accused of sour grapes, the pitch didn't effect the result

Turners Cross won pitch of the year last year and while its not at the same standard it was in the middle and end of last season its in great condition, should improve over the summer with good weather and fewer games.
We've been to UCD - shocking shocking surface - and Derry - not much better - though thats more than just the surface - there is apparently (according to brendyeire) a 2m difference between the level of the two corner flags down the home end (severe dip on the stand side) and you are playing up hill as you approach the other end
Ours is still flat as you like, but apparently rubbish!
Ours is very bumpy. In pretty good nick considering how bad it was just a few weeks ago but still very bumpy.

Dalymount has probably one of its worst pitches in years. Very bumpy due to lack of rain but also too many games due to U19s playing there and the squad training on it.
Judging from MNS, Gortakeegan looks like a pudding. Anyone closer to the action got a view?
Just heard on the news that a new €30 million grant scheme has been made available to sports-clubs countrywide.
Sporting F*ck All!
Its getting better (from being in very bad condition). The good weather will help the grass to grow, so I'd predict that it will be much improved by the Drogheda game. Dodge makes a good point about the floods, the middle of Monaghan was underwater at the end of last season, by which time it was already in a bad state, and there hasn't been any growth until now for the pitch to recover.

Focus is on participation so not sure how much that will help LOI clubs with their grounds and deadline is June 1st!

Brandywell given the green light for massive over-haul. 5,100 seat stadium on the way for Derry. To be honest, I think they should be looking at another 2,000 seats at least.

Nah, we don't need anything bigger than that. I'd be delighted with a 5000 seater ground. Plus, it could do for outside gigs and the like.
It's another step forward in the slow process of getting the ground sorted though, so all good.
For those interested, here's what the Brandywell stadium will hopefully look like in the wider redevelopment of the Brandywell/Bishop Street area. http://www.paulhogarth.com/newsblog/...oard3-copy.jpg
Have you ever won the treble?
Yeah, any more details Brendy?
That article is slightly confusing, and drawing a blanks on google.
I thought current crumbling mess could meet category 2 requirements (at a stretch). And while may be difficult to meet other criteria, should be looking at category 4 requirements, or at least have one eye on them with an upgrade path in mind.
Calling it slightly confusing is an understatement! Some of it makes no sense! I'd personally prefer they put the money towards building a better stadium out by Templemore. The local area can become gridlocked on normal match nights so bigger crowds in an already heavily built up residential area could be disastrous. Still, great news that the moneys there for improvements!
For once maybe someone will call me "sir" without adding "you're making a scene."
