That's fine, but how can you turn around and bemoan away fans whinging about the state of away sections? Oriel's away section is uncovered, with a terrible view, horrendous, rusty seating, loose gravel, no lighting, portacabin toilets that are always blocked and smell vile, and the back of the terrace appears to be some kind of dump or scrap metal yard.

It's no surprise at all that away fans would raise complaints, and tbh, it wouldn't cost very much to at least make the section moderately safe for human use.

Sit in the Human safe stand for €15 then and shut-up with the moans and stop with the over reacting missus.

I find it funny that at no matter what ground there is a problem, there is always a pregnant woman, about to pop, sitting out in the cold and wet, and a steward wouldn't let her around to even get a cup of tea!

I'd rather not pay more to get pelted with bottles for the entire game, thanks pal.

If he ever visited Oriel, he would have definitely given the whole saving the human race idea a rethink.

If you don't like the facilities don't give them your money, end of story.
I've had my car smashed up in dundalk, and the facilities are crap, so i don't give them my custom anymore. There's no view from the terrace in drogheda, so they don't get my custom unless i can get a stand ticket. After friday in cork, i won't be back until i hear that their facilities for away fans have improved. And i doubt i'll ever go back to derry until i hear they've some sort of liaison in place with the police to help away fans to safely depart the area. If you're willing to let these clubs continually treat you like a second class citizen, you can't complain when it happens.

Holding our hands up and saying 2 portaloos for that many people is inhumane (even for Rovers)
We haven't had that sizeable an away crowd for a good few years but it should have been expected.

and credit must go to those Rovers fans who lightened the load on those portaloos by using the streets of Turners Cross instead.

Yeah but only having 1/2 or even 2/3 of the required toilets is still a big failure.

Like it doesnt happen in cork every weekend, get a f**kin grip.

Your clubs failure to supply proper facilities has been highlighted and all you can do is blame Rovers fans for this and that, instead of taking on board the criticisms and dealing with it. Pathetic.

It might happen in the city centre at 2 in the morning but it doesn't happen in the streets of Turners Cross in the early evening with young children about.
Just making the point that not all Rovers fans have problems with having nowhere to urinate.

I already stated in my first post that we should have had more facilities available, this has been brought to the attention of the Board and the match night committee.

So the planned stadium developments are to install weekly car-vandalism in Dundalk, a GBH area in Tallaght, and a urine moat in Cork?

Our league will be the envy of clubs from Tirana to Karagandy!

Didn't think it justified a new thread, but was wondering what the state of pitches is like around the country? There's been a lot of negative comments about pitches over the last couple of weeks in the media, and from LoI fans and players on twitter and elsewhere.

What's your honest appraisal of your club's pitch?

The RSC is in great nick. This time last season it was a bit dodgy, but improved throughout the year. This season its been spot on right from the start. A pleasure to play on.

I've been at Turners Cross and Ferrycarrig Park recently - the Cross is also in great nick. Ferrycarrig Park less so, but of reasonable, if not great, standard.

Ours is a bit bobbly. but it's alright. Grass has been growing a bit earlier this year, so they should be on a bit. However, to a degree it's a consequence of a summer season meaning that major pitch work has to be done in winter. Hard to believe I know, as we were told summer football equalled better pitches, which in turn equalled better standard of football.
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.
