Yeah - he is a total disgrace. Every football expert knows that you have to have a million euro a season playing budget to win the league. Lacks ambition that man

That looks really good. Pardon my ignorance, but what's this youth centre's relationship with the club? Did they build it, or is it a community facility built beside the stadium or something?

The youth development centre is in Oriel park(directely behind the shed terrace) and belongs to the club.

Probably held up by French Air Traffic Controllers being on strike.

Seems a bit mad to demolish a stand by crashing planes into it though

Looks like a reduced capacity at the Brandywell is now going ahead with this new stand!

Looks good. Do any other clubs have stadium plans?

    Also....

Has work commenced yet on the Finn Harps ground?

Have plans stalled for Limerick at the Markets Field?

Is there any info regarding the completion of Tallaght? (Though, frankly, the ground is perfect as it is).

I remember reading that Bohs plan to have moved from Dalymount within 7 (?) years, will this see them moving to Harristown or Blanch, or will it not go ahead at all, killing the club and losing Dalymount in the process?

The FAI lodged planning apllications for a new stand in Drogheda replacing the current away terrace and home stand, has there been any progress whatsoever with this?

I think they're building a stand at the Square end of the ground starting this off-season (although I read that in a post on here, so it's not gospel!). Doesn't matter if they never fill it if it stops that wind tunnel effect!

It's a mirror image of the existing stand which holds slightly under 2,500.

The current capacity is 7,000 although we've had a lot more than that in the ground but that's what the H&S set down as capacity a few years ago.

I still won't believe it until I see it!

If tey bring the current stand the whole way round to the existing stand would that not create a bigger capacity. Only problem then would be that behind the goal you are very far away from the pitch.

is the brandy still used as a dog track if not then the pitch could be moved closer to the main stand and any new structures could be realigned on the far side, easy fro me to say i know but dog tracks really effect the atmosphere of football grounds.
I wish i did not know then what I dont know now

I presume by "they" you mean the local Council who own the Stadium ?
Can't see any public money being used for relatively frivolous things like that for the next 5 years.

It's a capital investment. If Shams can sell out the extra capacity on a semi-regular basis, it'll pay for itself in a couple of years through increased rent. Plus it'll create plenty of jobs in construction. The council could do plenty of worse things with the money!
