What?! Thats a great terrace! Sure it may be dilapidated but its quality for atmosphere. Its got a low roof and is compact - noise off it is great.

In fairness its probably one of the best away sections in league in terms of atmosphere ,cover and closeness to the pitch with a great view of one of the goals

Mervue United's plan to build a stand has received approval from Galway City Council. Thet are building a 501 seater stand in their ground which is on the east of the city very close to GMIT college and Bon Socures Private Hospital.

The FAI is currently undertaking a review of the entire League of Ireland structure, which is expected to be completed at the end of the 2010 season, and it is believed Mervue United will delay any work on erecting a surrounding fence or a stand at Fahy’s Field pending the outcome of that review.

It is thought that one avenue the FAI is considering is the expansion of the Premier Division to a 16-team league and the scrapping of the First Division, to be replaced by regional development leagues from which there will be promotion to, and relegation from, the Premier Division.

It is believed Mervue United will see little point in proceeding with such development work at Fahy’s Field if it is not involved in the Premier Division and if membership of the regional league does not require such facilities to be in place.

With all due respect to Mervue, even if they were in the Premier Division, I can't see them needing a stand.

Some of the better supported teams in the league might bring a large away support, but you could hardly have them in the same stand as the Mervue fans, if such people were ever to appear.

i don't care about that i want to know if they have decided who they are selling it to, for how much, and anything about the new stadium.

It was halted due to something about revenue and co-op law, I didn't attend the AGM so not entirely clear on the issue but from what I can gather, the desired vote went through and there is no turning back now.
Shinny new stadium on the way, finally.

its mad to think that 9million is all it will cost, a 100million from the government during the celtic tiger wouldnt have gone a miss.
would be great to see most clubs in a brand new stadium

Glancing over the bohsforum, hehe, good to see they have a longterm goal in place to sell Dalyers, and tap into a highly populated suburb eg. Blanchardstown.
