might stick a tonne on el tel if i get him at 3-1, at least that will ease the pain of him being appointed manager!

Why should football managers believe they should not be interviewed.

Dunphy said he was told Venables has the job but he could not say for certain. Called Venables a c-list manager. The reporter asked Dunphy who would he appoint and he said Jewell or maybe Coppell. Repeated what he has been saying recently about the process ie professional headhunters should be seeking candidates for the job and not the 3 lads.

Pretty much that Managers who are sure of themselves shouldnt be faffing about with interviews, and that anyone who wasn't offered the job outright is perfectly entitled to politely delcine an interview.

He seems to intimate that the whole idea of an interview process was pointless in the first place. They should either know who to go for, or they shouldnt be in the game at all. He feels that Interviews are embarrassing for all concerned.
On the way into the stadium, an elderly San Marino Steward waved us in and said "Tonight, may the best team win"

    And they nearly did.

Does anyone think Roy Keane has been following this closely or is he just stirring it? He says it's better than Big Brother but didn't offer any insight or even hint that he knew what was going on. His "saving money" jibe was daft.

Frankly I don't find his comments interesting, informed or welcome on this topic.

And I agree with Neil, why shouldn't football managers be interviewed and be prepared to be interviewed?

Cheers. That's all fair enough especially when everyone reckons the process is purely a smokescreen in any case.

RK seems to love commenting on anything and everything. He should just shut up and get on with his job.

Part of his job includes Press conferences, where stupid people ask stupid questions. It's not like he was waving a big "ASK ME ABOUT THE FAI!" flag or anything...

to be fair to him if hes asked a question he has to answer it. did you look at the interview?..... very very tame stuff indeed.

dunphy was on the rte 1 news at lunchtime saying that venebles is a C list candidate at best and we should stay well clear. backed the statement up by saying no premier lge club would want him so why should we? said that he has been told that el tel will be the manager but that you never know with the fai

exactly, probably trying to take the focus away from the shambles that he is currently presiding over...

I can't access bookies' websites at work.

Just out of interest, how do the major bookies see it at the moment, i.e., current odds?

no didn't see it. it's a general criticism about RK. He seems to comment about everything. if he was asked the question he could just say no comment and get on with dealing with qs about his own job. He seems to want to be a media darling to keep himself and sunderland in the news. I'm not sure that's wise.

Which would of course lead to

"KEANE IN LINE FOR IRELAND JOB!"

headline speculation in the "news" papers. No one needs that except maybe the bookies. They seem to be running out of money spinning favourites.

well it was a sunderland press conference so, if asked about the Irish job, all he needs to say is that "its none of mine or Sunderland's business...next question" - absolutely no chance of the papers spinning that...

seems like Keane is stirring sh*t just for the sake of it....
