Lyon can win the league without any manager, and it was mostly Le Guen work that set the ball rolling there

There is no doubt that the Foot.ie poll has singlehandedly swung the pendulum in favour of Houllier

People are really baring a grudge over the qualification campaign from 15 years ago - is it possible he's learned something since then?

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the FAI and/or the 3 stoogies are monitoring this and other sites to gauge fans opinions, they'd be fool's not to

what? they left out "Surrender Monkey"? They must be taking a lurch towards "Brussels" or somewhere "over in Europe" at any rate.

In the 1994 qualifiers he beat Israel away 4-0, beat Sweden 2-1 at home and defeated all the lower ranking teams in the group. Yeah he managed them terribly...

the same Bulgaria that finished fourth in the subsequent World Cup, Sweden who were also in Frances group finished Third.

no point even replying to such a stupid statement.

By that logic then, it was mostly Houlliers work that set the ball rolling for Frances 1998 World cup win.

Yes, Houllier is clearly inept to manage a team of Irelands stature !

Well said Ruben, agree with everything. He may not be everyone's favourite for the job but to dismiss him on the basis of his record is ridiculous.

You can point at the WC 94 qualification as a failure (notwithstanding the fact that they were in pole position with 2 to go so he was obviously doing something right) but the Bulgarian winner was a freakishly good goal - when you concede a goal like that in those circumstances you just know your number's up. It was over 14 years ago and I think it's fair to say Houllier has taken a few things on board since then.

Tigana is now 8/1 on Paddypowers. The bookies are manipulating the market for their own gain. Complete joke. They are going throw Zindane into the mix before Tuesday. Probably on Saturday when most punters are at home.

El Tel has now drifted out to 5/2 with Paddy Power. Might be worth a punt at this stage.............as far as some are concerned he's still a shoe in for the job!
There'll be snow on that one.

What was Dunphy saying on the RTE lunchtime news? I caught the end of it where he said that according to his sources Venables is all but selected.
