when i was in lansdowne for the holland friendly it was seriously depressing and i thought that it couldnt possibly get any worse but its so bad its unreal.

When Staunton goes, Delaney must go as well - it was misguided of Staunton to apply for the job in the first place, but Delaney gave it to him

3 specific causes of this disaster

1 - Not bringing Carsley which means we have no-one to break up attacks. This is due to Stan's inability to admit he is wrong.

2 - Only bringing 2 Central defenders he woudl actually play. Doherty or Paddy McCarthy coudl have come on at half time. You couldnt bring on McShane

3- Taking over a team in transition and then only playing 2 matches in the 6 months before you first competititve match. McCarthy could have 6 caps by now

duff hasn't been world class since 2003/2004

keane/finnan and possibly dunne are good enough the rest are unproven(ireland)/journeymen(kilbane)
it's a poor/average team and we're going to struggle for several years. especially as lack a midfield which exposes our avg. defence

face it anyone who is planning on not attending lansdowne for the next while will be joining those fair weather fans who turned up post 1988

I think the block booking waiting list may start to clear up a bit after today
