    TV coverage tonight

Did anyone else see the sports news on TV3 at 5:30? I thought I heard the guy say there'd be highlights of tonights game on Sports Tonight, I was under the impression TV3's coverage didn't start for another few weeks. Anyway I could have just been imagining it since I was half asleep at the time, so I could quite easily be wrong about this.

I'm DISGUSTED with the TV3 coverage!!
They must have showed a minute of the game! They quickly showed the 4 pats goals and the sending off (no sign of Georges free kick!! They preferred to show a clip of the final whistle going than showing his free kick!!), and then had interviews with pat dolan, some feen and liam murphy. All over in an instant. And now they're spending like 15 minutes showing how good their champions league coverage is gonna be!! Total ****e!

Yeah I'm very worried by TV3's coverage so far, they missed the best goal of the night tonight, beautiful free-kick, can't believe they missed it either, there was a lot of time setting up the kick and it was just right on the area.
Their coverage of Friday's Shels-Bohs game was pretty bad too, I think they missed the two Bohs goals, at least all you saw was the final touch for the ball going in the net.
It's one thing to miss something live because of a poor director or something but how hard is it to point the camera in the general direction the ball is in, and make sure the goal-mouth is always in shot when the ball is around the area, very poor.

TV3's coverage was dire last night. on the 5.30 news they announced they will be showing highlights of the match, they also announced it a million times in Richmond Prk. I came home from the match and waited up just to see the "highlights". Was I disappointed, it wasn't highlights it wasn't even the goals of the game as they missed the city goal......!!! Total disgrace

I think Trevor probably decided to spare citys embarishment by not showing the highlights (Pats missed chances) although strange they didn't bother to show Georges freekick goal - maybe they were changing tapes then ot something?

RTE regularly missed goals and even the UK stations do. Give TV3 time, at least they are trying and even advertising the fact they're showing it

Don't get me wrong I'm delighted TV3 have gotten the coverage, and the fact that their camermen are not as totally ruled by unions as "the other broadcasters who will remain nameless", means there should be more flexibility. In one way you have to respect the TV3 coverage last night, the entire pictures came from a TV3 news jeep. I'm just pointing out where they should look to improve things.
Hopefully when the cameramen get more used to football, it'll be a joy to watch the "highlights" of a match after getting home from it.
