Cawley and McCarthy get longer bans

I heard on WLR this morning that Ger McCarthy got a further 3 match ban on top of the automatic 1 match ban and Alan Cawley got an extra 2 games after the sending offs in Dalymount Park a few weeks ago. Thats a big blow for the next few games and weakens our attack a lot.

That's f*cking crazy. Cawley was given a second yellow card so he should only have a one match ban. Is this definitely true? All thanks to the incompetence of the officials at Dalymount.

We had absolutely no cutting edge up front without them on Friday. We'll be screwed for a few games if they're missing.

I can't remember the exact details but I would assume extra bans for chasing after the linesman? Did you of them refuse to leave the pitch or something?

The whole thing was a joke. The ref should have closed his ears afterwards and let the thing die down. One of the officials made a mistake (I thought it was Rhona Daly to be honest) and it cost Waterford a hard fought lead. The players were bound to react. Shows that McKeon has no understanding of the game or just likes to throw his weight around.

In saying that, I'm not surprised they increased Cawleys ban (not that I think the should have). He did throw a lot of harsh abuse at Daly.
