    December 8th, D-Day

i read that dec 8th is the date they announce who will be the teams in the premiership next season, each club has an hour to make a presentation on october 14th to a panel who will decide the 12 teams.the final decisions will be announced on december 8th,i keep hearing the rumour that we are apparently already assured of our place in it.they are ranking clubs out of 50 in off-the-field stuff and 50 again for results over past 4 seasons,so i reckon we might get around 40/45 out of 50 for off-the-field stuff but we will be way back with results etc.its gonna be tight i think.
also, they are also looking for a club to enter the first division to fill the gap left by dublin city, maybe it could be mervue???apparently though they want it to be a regional side like kerry or mayo who doesnt currently have a team in the league.

t'would be great if a mayo team was elected. a nice away trip - even though we'd never meet them, cause we'll be in the "Premiership"

    it wont be

Mervue. talked to a few committee members up there and they said their ethos is very much, junior and juvenile and they would lose the voluntary members quickly if they were trying to fund a league of ireland team.
In reality if a club has not got a budget now of a million a year on the league of ireland team alone its a waste of time

Does anybody how much of a bearing will the presentation have on the final decision?

TBH i wouldn't say it will have a significant bearing but if you make a top presentation and you're on border line for entry all things will help and you never know with the FAI-A nice home movie might be the icing on the cake!

    Fair play GalwayGirl!

It would be great if Tralee Dynamos got the go ahead but rumour has it down here that the Kerry League are preparing a very comprehensive Eircom League application.

IMO, I reckon it will either be Kerry League of Mayo League who are accepted as they are currently playing Eircom U21 and no eircom league teams exist in both counties.

I reckon Derek would love to play against us!

yeah i think the mayo league have a great shout of getting it. castlebar's cup run this year would have seriously helped them and i heard that the FAI were happy with the set up in castlebar. some good players in Mayo but a lot of them dont play with the mayo league. they've a few with sligo and a few with athlone
