    Di-Lella to make debut

    fai.ie

Jimmy McGeough will give a debut to Argentinian import Gustavo Di-Lella as Waterford United hope to continue their impressive start to the season against Dublin City at the RSC on Thursday night (Kick off 7:30).

The midfielder, who McGeough sees as the ideal replacement for Gary Dempsey, impressed against the Irish Junior international side last week in a friendly and McGeough has no worries about throwing him against League opposition.

"I've been looking around all summer for someone to replace Gary and Gustavo is the closest I've seen. Gary was the type of player who suited our style of play and hopefully Gustavo will be the same. He comes here with a lot of experience having played in Spain and with Hartlepool in England."

Willie Byrne, a recent signing from Cobh Ramblers, is also expected to make his debut while Wayne Fitzgerald has declared himself fit after picking up a foot injury during Monday's clash with the Ireland Junior side.
