After being drawn away from home in 3 rounds if would be nice to get a home draw.
Derry City (H)
Shamrock Rovers (H)
Bohemians (H)
Derry City (A)
Shamrock Rovers (A)
Bohemians (A)
any thoughts. i think a home tie against derry would be ok? i don't think any one would fancy playing the boez.
shame athlone town aren't playing!!!!!!!!![]()

I'd say we may have to beat Bohs to win the competition...Originally posted by dalo

I just hope it's not Derry away... I probably could not make that game...and it's been awhile since I was at an FAI cup semi-final, so I don't want to miss this one..![]()
i better revise my earlier thread in agreement with you there. any one bar derry away. that would be very sticky. i have a feeling it may be rovers at home again.Originally posted by oddboy

whoever we get it won't be easy. at least 4 years ago the 1/4 final and semi games were reasonably easier games still though playing derry, bohs and shels in the fianl meant we did it the hard way

Preferred draw:
City v Shamrock Rovers
Other (Derry) City v Bohs
Rovers seem to be the weakest so i wuldnt mind them at home. i have a horrible feeling we'll get the draw we all dont want, e.g. Derry or Bohs away
Rovers at home...
the way things have gone so far i wouldn't bet against derry away but something in the back of my mind is saying it will be bohs at home
A home draw against Rovers or Bohs - Derry would be on a Sunday wouldn't it. Can't wait to get to Turner's Cross under lights. Although when you think back to the trip to Athlone four years ago, if we can take that many fans up the country again it would be some occasion.
C'mon CITY
Effenberg played like my grandmother!
My preference would be Rovers at home but as long as we dont get Derry away ill be reasonably happy.
btw, whos the joker who voted for Derry away?![]()
IMO Derry at home would be the easiest game but i'd like if both the pale based team had to travel for a change. Would be a shame if both citys drawn together as away support would be seriously reduced.
rovers at home
then derry in the final
the battle of the 2 big city's and would prob guarantee the biggest cup final attendance in years![]()
The thought of playing derry in a cup final really appeals to me. You would be talking of around 20k attendance, it would have to be played at landsdowne rd. Its wot the league really needs now
We just love playing Rovers in the Cup, don't we!
To tell the truth I just want a home draw.
While Derry have improved slightly they're still no major threat.
For the good of the game I think City v Bohs would be the ideal final.
Have Boot Disk, will travel
Dont Sky have a deal to show Semi finals? there was a whisper last year about it
I'd have to disagree. Bohs have no support while City and Derry would each bring over 10,000 to a cup final.Originally posted by Peadar

We're not arrogant, we're just better.
Agree. Bohs are always goin on about being the "Big Club", but their support anytime I've been there has been fairly poor.Originally posted by Neil

Bohs maybe the "big club" but sure we're the "HUGE club"Originally posted by Éanna
