Would they not play each other four times and make it a 32 game season?

No because you don't play against yourself. 5 games a season would be 35 but stupid.

I take it we still don't have any guidelines on what clubs need to do before the start of next season to qualify for the Premier. Some indications would be helpful. Something like:

If UCD finish 7th and Galway finish 3rd, UCD stay up - if the gap is smaller than that Galway get promoted unless Dundalk win the First and build a new stand...

At least then we'd know where we stand and people might actually start caring about the league again.

But then we don't know anything about the X factor elements. Agree it'd be handy to have and make things interesting. Agree no one cares about the league in its current state

I think it's pretty obvious why that won't happen.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

Small piece in the Mirror again... A quick snippet

And that is because the merger is basically a win-win situation. The FAI will get control over the league and the clubs will get better prize-money, presumable more financial support and certainly more promises.

Whether those are fulfilled or not will only become clear over the passage of time.
God help us, but what did we ever do to deserve such lazy, pandering, pathetic excuses for journalists?

It cannot be any worse than the clubs running the league themselves.

Interesting that all areas of the game in Ireland voted Yes.
