Are Harps trying to rip us off?

In tonights Echo it says Brian Lennox refused to sign the offical FAI attendance form. Harps are claming there was only 1500 at the game while Lennox believes it was in the region of 2500. City are entitled to 40% of the gate.

I reckon Harps are tryiny to pull a fast one, it looked to me like at least 2000 people, what do the rest of those at the game think?

    Harps/Kildare game

..they pulled the same stunt against us last week. They tried to doctor the tickets on the gate.
    Rivaldo?....sure he's only a fanny merchant.

    2500?

Lennox and Spillane in the Echo are claiming that there were at least 2,500 and that City had there own staff at the ground with clickers to count the ppl as they went in.

Yet another reason why accurate gate-reporting must be brought in.

Surely though if it is the FAI's competition, seeing as they do take some of the money, the FAI themselves should man the gates and announce the attendence. Typically FAI not to of course, sure Finn Park is miles from Dublin, they wouldnt be able to find it.
    Oh no not them again

That's a bit stupid. Surely the crowd in Cork will be bigger and they've practically ensured that Cork will rip them off in return. Harps will lose money out of this in the end.

    Red face

This seems to be a yearly event at this stage. I thought there supposed to be tickets for FAI games to try 'n cut this out?

I know the clubs have many tax reasons & advertising reasons for not having accurate attendance figures but the FAI & league really do have to get the finger out & ensure turnstiles at all grounds are used.

If the league wants to come across more professional this really needs to be changed.

btw sure all city will do is scam Harps on the replay tomorrow night anyway.

I reckoned the crowd was 2,000 maybe more. just talking to a Harps fan earlier when I saw the echo, and he reckons it was more than 1,500, probably about 2,000.
I hope city don't resort to doing the same thing tomorrow night, in a petty gesture of revenge. Lennox has obviously made an issue of it by not sigining the forms, so it should be dealt with professionally. Even if we lose a bit of money on it, the point will have ben made.

    Well done Lennox.
