    September 21, 2006

Renegade Cork City midfielder George O’Callaghan is set to join Coca-Cola Championship side Hull City on trial after his brief stay at Ipswich Town comes to an end this week.

O’Callaghan was the eircom League’s Player of the Year in 2005 as Cork ended a 12-year wait for a league title.

However, he has been exiled at Turners Cross for the past three months after a blazing row with manager Damien Richardson.

The 27-year-old, who enjoyed a spell at Port Vale before joining Cork in 2002, is currently on trial at Portman Road, but the Tractor Boys’ Championship rivals Hull are also interested in having a look at the talented playmaker

Hull's manager is Phil Parkinson who took Colchester into the championship with a budget lower than some EL teams and crowds of 2-3,000 in a stadium worse than United Park. Also, reputedly, a man who takes no sh!t from players.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

You must really like United Park if you think it's better then Hull's class stadium.
Also they get far more then 2-3,000 for home league matches. There was 17,000 there for the last home league game.
