Thanks for the kind words. Yes, our goalkeeper and defence have been brilliant all season. We tried so many combinations up front that it is hard to know which was best. I think if we had a regular partnership we might have scored more goals.
Can't fault Scully's professionalism. He has been brilliant. Can't compare him to the joke we had as manager last season - "...oh! it's raining, we better not train today".

TBh honest the reason why I think Rovers won the FD was their manager. I think Galway and Dudndalj have better playerss but tje manager madw the difference.

5-1 Galway were in July- even though thery didn'y win it was still worth the temmer.

from the word go, shamrock rovers were up there, never falling out of the top 3 all season. Congratulations and a team that totally deserves the title, enjoy the celebratory weekend in Cobh ! Hopefully the rovers legend Tony Cousins can get his team to finish the last 2 matches in similiar form

To be honest he's more likely to be at Shels next season than anyone other than Rovers

Wasting his time going to shels, he will have to build a new team if all the rumours are true about players leaving, And he would not put up with players not getting paid on time and not knowing if he is going to get paid. Better off staying with Rovers

The three top clubs in the First Division deserve enormous credit. Easily the best First Division ever.

Rovers were consistant - only lost 3 games all season and conceded just 12 goals in 35 matches. There's no denying that that's championship winning form.

But the runs Galway and Dundalk put together in the final half of the season were remarkable and in any other season would have been enough to secure them the title.

Only one thing matters now, however: ROVERS ARE BACK!

Yes, it was a very exciting race. I wonder how different things mght have been if Rovers hadn't grabbed that late winner the very first game of the season -- not even in terms of the points that were won and lost then, but in terms of the sense of momentum it helped give the club's season. It would be great to see Galway and Dundalk back in the top flight, along with ourselves.

Well done Rovers, deserved champions. It was a great run in and all three teams involved were oustanding for most of the second half of the season. Both games we had recently with Rovers and Dundalk showed the potential of domestic football in this country.Sell out crowds, electric atmosphere, and genuine LOI supporters having the craic toghether before, during and after the games.
When I started going to Terryland ourselves Rovers and Dundalk were all top Premier division sides. I believe the league needs a strong Rovers team but it also needs strong Dundalk and Galway United teams.
Hopefully the next time we are involved in a run in like this it wiil be for the premier title, and United will come out on top !

League table never lies.Rovers have definitely deserved it.
One can only wonder though would things have been different if Cousins had been there from the start for UTD.Ah well if you draw 12 games your always going to make it difficult but to get 25 out of 30 points and not win the league just shows how close it was this year.

    Congratulations Rovers.See you next year!

The year after next is more likely is it not?

Roverstilidie - I think Harps' highest attendance was at the first game of the season where the mighty Kilkenny beat us.

So we beat Galway and Dundalk to win the title, (to quote Mrs. Doyle) "that's happened before, alright".

The fact that we are 20-odd goals clear, should we be caught on points next week, pays great tribute to the attacking football we have played in every game this season. We never went into games looking to hold on for a point, and we kept 20+ clean sheets into the bargain. The games in hand were taken advantage of, and our home record was invincible. 14 wins from 18 games with 0 defeats.

The next step is to organise a ground to play in next season, hold onto our boss, build a competitive squad, and consolidate our position in the NLPD next season. All that before the pre-season friendlies start at the end of January. We'll have a busy winter.

Who was your No.6 playing centre midfield last night? He looked a very tidy player. Looking at your side last night it's obvious you're desperately lacking up front, though it's understandable with the forwards you've had to loan out etc
