    Top o' the League?

Shamrock Rovers drew 1 - 1 with Dundalk on Thursday night!

GUFC can go top of the first division (with Rovers and Dundalk) if we can defeat Monaghan United on Friday night.

Quite simply, if we don't beat the Mighty Mons, then we don't deserve to be top of the table.

Rovers will be ahead on goal difference but we will move ahead of Dundalk.
The dundalk commentator said they were the 2 best eams in the league by a "country mile".Well the league table never lies so i guess we're doing something wright to be up there and ahead of these superior teams.

Perfect result for us tonight. Beat Mons first but if we do, it's very much there for the taking.

    good night

for the league as well, gr8 crowd in Oriel. it just shows once there is interest crowds will come out. fluid promotion and relegation opportunities kept as open as possible would be far better for league than the restrictive proposition that is the new premiership. changing the name wont improve it. 3 up 3 down and 3rd 4th 5th and 6th for play offs keeps everyone in with a shout as long as possible. Rovers have had the chance to resurrect their support in the 1st division... cmon utd 2moro nite

YEP 10 nil will do it!!!
    Great result to-night.
Should be alrite against Mons as long as they keep a high tempo for the 90min. Destroyed Kilkenny at times last week when we played at pace but too often took the foot off the pedal. Should have ball boys in Terryland as it took an age for throws, free kicks goal kicks because there was no ball. Doesn't suit or style of play all the breaks in play.

I think it needs to be a 9-0 win though to go top with same goal difference as Rovers by top by virtue of more goals scored.

Well job done, and we are top of the league (points wise) but with Rovers having the game in hand, means that they still have the upper hand. Limerick away next and another cup final. Fair play to Tony Cousins and the boys, lets hope for another win this day next week.
