English Law at The K Club?

Surprisingly, while the Ryder Cup is on, English Law will be used at the course.
In other words if anyone is arrested ie. public order offences etc. they will be brought over to England to attend an English Court.
    How can this be?
I know that within the boundries of an Embassy the land is the sovernty of that country...but The K Club?
If this is so, will it be policed by British Bobbies and not the Gardai?

That could only happen if the K Club was deemed to be part of Britain (as in- Embassy status) which has not happened.

Whoever told you this is "Jerkin yer gherkin".

Thats true the Father in law is doing steward and he has been informed of this.
Apparently its a condition of the USA team entering the competition.
Could have something to do with extradition agreement betwen countries
Dont forget British police had the right to make arrests at the world cup
And American officials arrests when G bush was here
So its not Unusual as TJ might say

So if someone is caught dipping or D & D or the like at the R C they'll stand trial in the UK?,can't see that happening (whatever about US & GB Police having powers of arrest).

I dont think that is the thinking behind it. That would probably be left
to the Gardai. Its more likely to be enforced in a situation like an attack
    on the US team

I've heard it all now, extraordinary rendition at the K-Club.
Maybe Dunphy will be drunk and he'll end up at Gitmo
Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.

How could this be true? AFAIK you can only extend sovereignty to an embassy or consulate. Are they rewriting International Law here? Sounds like a load of bull to me

Just done a quick bit of googling and it seems that this is true to an extent. Something about owners of property in the K Club be asked to sign a contract declaring who will be on their proerty during the Cup and the contract specified English Law. Weird
