Well GBFM do sponsor us so we cannot go behind there backs and start using another radio station even if they do F all for senior football in there programming.
Ive been listening to 101.3fm today, its called Galway Coast FM. I think we should get onto them about doing live coverage from Terryland. GBFM wont do it because they have better (more listenership) stuff to play on a friday night, but this new station might just do it. Would be great for exiled fans to be able to listen to home games live.
So anyone know who they are and how do we get in contact with them.

You might remember that Galway Bay FM is now owned by Connact Tribune Newspapers so please be more careful about shooting the messengers. The GAA were previous shareholders in GB FM and so had a virtual monopoly on air time. It's gonna take a while for that to change & the biggest influence on it will be promotion & success.
The Advertiser gave a huge push to the Kilkenny game. New sports Editor very pro GUFC. The previous editor was a mad rugby supporter but still gave GUFC excellent coverage.
In the context of the money Connacht rugby are generating in sponsorship theri two recent "home" gates. We've done really well with the local media coverage.
Personally I think the photos / posters being offered of late are excellent. A radio breakthrough won't come until we get promoted or take a huge scalp in the cup.
