Seems to be two debates going on here. One regarding Brady and his role at Arsenal and their youth structure.Secondly how Liam Brady failed his country.
In Trap we trust
I agree.
In Trap we trust
if you bothered to read the posts you might have noticed that it has decended into a thing about coaching youngsters and brady the great coach!

stealing young fellas from africa and the like when they are 17 etc is hardly good youth development,
how come arsenal have not had a wayne rooney, john terry or a paul scholes, etc?
i have no problem, i like his tv analysis, and he was a great player
but , as a coach, he didnt do particularly good at celtic, i can remembr when celtic came 4th one year, and didnt get into europe!
Okay, in an effort to stimulate a response from A Face, let me say the following:
A Face is a weasel, a left handed fisherman turned novelist, a car thief, skilled in the art of fixing broken pens and he screams at the sight of the colour purple.
I'll justify all of that after he justifies the Brady jibe, like people have been asking for the past couple of days.
Anyone else have any unsupported statements to make about A Face?
You can't spell failure without FAI
I think Brady's dead right. Chelsea are poison. They're tapping up players left, right and centre through out Europe. From 15 year olds right up to the top players like Ashley Cole. They've taken Leeds Utd's best schoolboy players recently, which left Ken Bates fuming. They were filmed last night on Panorma tapping up a 'Boro U15 international and offering him £150,000 to join. Look at the Jon Obi Mikel situation - They end up paying £12m to Man U for a player that they clearly tapped up after he signed for Utd. £16m altogether as they had to pay £4m to Lynn Oslo as well. It's disgusting. They even tapped up Frank Arnesen to take him from Spurs.....
I hope they fall to pieces behind the scenes as well. It was Roman Abramovich who signed Shevchenko, Kenyon who signed Ballack and Cole, and Kenyon who let Gallas go to Arsenal behind Mourinhos back. José isn't calling the shots transfer wise and there's a problem down the line there. SWP is being messed about disgracefully and it's no wonder that Damian Duff and Gallas wanted out completely. They could probably see it coming. Should be interesting. I'd like to see Shevchenko and Ballack flop big time (good chance that they will too), Mourinho resign in a sulk and I hope the Russian Mafia go after Abramovich![]()
Chelsea like all Clubs with clout will do what is in there interest regardless what other clubs think.
other clubs would do the same if they had the clout.
Chelsea were long enough the poor relation, now they will do as they feel regardless of what you and I think.
Regards to Brady he should stick to what he does best and thats coach and leave chelsea to what they do best and thats win.![]()
Lads, when I said he failed his country, I was not talking directly about the story in the post, although it would be related. I was talking about Brady and his contribution to Irish football or more to the point the lack of constructive contribution to the Irish game.
Now I know some of you will say he is plying his trade across the water, he has a right to do so, and there is nothing wrong with it. And to that I would agree IF that were the only issue. The problem I have is contribution to or impact on the Irish game, which in my opinion is abysmal to put it mildly.
Again, I am not on about any one comment or opinion shared, I am on about everything altogether, his attitude, his position and his use of it, his condescending remarks towards Irish football, not just the eL, but to junior/schoolboy football, everything over many many years.
Apart for not being the least bit ambitious about the Irish game on any level, his complete lack of inspiration or motivation (which again is fine on its own) really gets on my nerves. I am not saying he should have people hanging on every word with him sharing a guru-like wisdom with the average Joe on the street. I am saying that when he does the opposite and criticizes everything, with scathing remarks that do untold damage. I think I am entitled to form an opinion on him, his 'opinion' or 'critique', the way he portrays it and its knock on effect.
The fact that I find him dower and boring, and the complete purveyor of misery does come into it. If he is putting himself out on a limb, representing the gravedigger of ambition then I feel I am entitled to observe it and share my findings, which I have done so.
I am not going to comment on any one of his 'deals' where he enabled some youngster to walk the golden paved streets on his way to having his name in lights, we all know how shady things are when it gets down to it over there and to say he has nothing to do with it would be stupid imo. He is part of the system, a system that, again in my opinion, is crippling the game over here and I think that we should have been able to expect a bit more from him. The reason I have this expectation is that when you look at any other league across the world, the people involved in the sport that receive so much opportunity at one level, more often than not give it back at another level.
It’s a national pride thing I guess, I think Brady has none of it and I think the game has gone backward as opposed to forward as a result of his contribution. I wouldn’t mind if it stood still or if he was never involved in the Irish game again, it’s when it suffers, that’s what gets me.
Lads, just remember now aswell that I formed this opinion over many years and no amount of abuse will change my mind. I will stay open minded though and take on board other peoples opinions and possibly change my own if they were valid, so don’t waste you time if you want to ‘defend the honour of Irelands favourite Londoner’ because I’m not getting into it.

Brady had enough national pride not to walk out on his country though. A face you are talking through your arse on this one.
Brady offers constructive criticism not the consistent slagging of you know who.
The fact that it has taken you over a week to come back to this says it all.

I gave my opinion, i was asked to elaborate on it and i did. If you are dragging it off down another argument then you should have said that and i wouldn't have responded.
Why did people ask me the elaborate days later? What does that say ?? I didn't respond because i didn't see it, if you put 2 and 2 together you'll see my opinion did change, so why would i not want to comment. Fact is ..... i am right and you offered nothing to say otherwise.
I will repeat though .... i am not getting dragged off on a debate i am not getting involved in.

You're talking rubbish about Brady. You said he has no national pride. He travelled to that disastrous trip to South America in 1982 while you know who couldnt be arsed playing in a World Cup. That's national pride for you.
If Brady was from cork you wouldnt be saying anything and you know it. And you're a mod? Christ on a bike.
