Even with McClaren as their manager? Now that we'll have a decent manager (touch wood) we would have them.

is there a good chance of England dropping into pool B if they lose/draw with the Croatians? They have been top seeds for a good while now and it would be nice to see em paired up with one of the bigger nations for a change The Hoddle era must have been last time they had one of the big guns i.e. Italy.

I think if we got paired up with England, Norway/Scotland we'd have a decent shot of at least finishing runners up. If we end up with Sweden (from pot B) we might struggle.

Is there any possibility of a group with England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland B this time? Assuming England will be top seeds?

That should be possible. Alternatively, you might get a group including England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, which would provide a welcome opportunity for NI to defend their British Championship title (unofficially, of course).

However, NI and "Ireland B" are likely both to be third seeds, so cannot be drawn together.

What a place to have a match. No one will be moaning about Bratislava again. Doubt there's too many ways of getting there either so no one will be complaining about the 12.25 Bratislava-Prague.

not getting on the 12.25 was one of the best decisions i ever made in my life.

    Seedings for 2010WC?

Does anyone know when Ireland find out in what Pot they will be placed in for the 2010 World Cup??

I know the draw takes place this weekend looking forward to it.

Interesting to see that all the number 1 & 2 seeds will now probably qualify for Euro2008 with the exception of Denmark (mainly because of one mad fan). Our recent run of result will have done nothing to help us although finishing 3rd (somehow) should mean we are either 3/4 seeds.

In fairness, the Swedes had just been awarded a penalty so you'd expect they'd have won 4-3.

Friday, not sure what time. I dont think it makes much of a difference as to what teams we get we always seem to make life hard for ourselves regardless of who we are playing eg, Switzerland & Russia group when we were the top seeds

just a thought but our next manager may hinge massively on who we are drawn against! i mean if we get a group like the scots got last time out then most established bosses wouldn't touch us with a barge pole!

or am i being over negative??

Did you see the Italians trying to defend from Scotlands corner kicks? Germans beaten 3-0 at home by the Czechs a few weeks back. Holland winning 1-0 at home against Luxemborg. Portugal must win their last game to qualify. Lets not worry about who we draw as there is no way of telling how good or bad a eam is going to be until we actually get to play them. Sometimes the "big" names have to rebuild. Somtimes the so called minnows or mid-ranking teams find 2 or 3 great players and step up a gear. So lets just worry about ourselves. Get the right manager and stop leaking goals. Look at the groups we qualified from for WC90/94 and 02.
