Seems like a good move to me, a good few Irish at Hull, so will be a team to watch from an Irish perspective.
It's a bit sideways in terms of league position though, 2 points up.
Both teams about 7-1 for relegation

No sign of him today for Hull v Norwich, probably he was given the day off to deal with the missus and her state of shock/grief.
Strange enough considering, but no Irish player on view in that game until Pilko/Pilks came on as a late sub.

He's carrying an ankle knock and want expected to play. He's cup tied for next weekend's fourth round game so won't make his debut for them until Tuesday week against Crystal Palace

Hull started the season playing a defensive 4-3-3 with Brady on the left and Elmohamady on the right. As Hull hit a rough patch around November or so, Bruce reverted to last season's successful 3-5-2 with Figueroa and Elmohamady as the wing backs. He's use his son Alex on occasion to step into midfield to make it a straight 4-4-2 when needed. Hull are the only team in the Premier League who play 3-5-2, which if nothing else should benefit Ireland long-term as we'll have more players capable of transitioning between different systems during a game.

Long appeals for a penalty but doesn't get it, looks like he played for it by
getting a player to run into the back of him much like those insurance frauds
where someone cuts in front of you and slams on the brakes.

Well looks more like he sticks his legs into the defenders legs actually.

    Hull 1-0 down to Palace.

Long missed the target at 1m out, from an angle. Same old refrain on that aspect.
Otherwise not a bad debut, worked hard.

GOAL - Hull 1-0 Spurs - Shane Long (12 mins)
£7m well spent! Shane Long grabs his first goal for Hull after some classic front-two play. It's route one stuff, Nikica Jelavic makes a nuisance of himself and helps the ball on for Long to chase, he gets clear of the chasing pack and fires past the keeper with his left foot. Classic stuff!

Shame they could not hold out for the win.
With Crystal Palace and West Ham winning the relegation line has leapt up the table
mid table 11th place is only 3 points clear of the drop zone. Even Villa in 10th
don't look safe being just 5 points clear.

Tottenham fans would scoff at signing Shane Long but he has four times as many goals from open play than Roberto Soldado and offers at least twice as much in open play.

They're incomparable in terms of open play. Long is different gravy in that regard. And, in terms of PL goal records, he's exceed Soldado also. We've seen Jermaine Defoe shipped off to Canada this January, while the expensive Soldado has been kept in situ (too early to sell him/write him off). Very similar players.

Long isn't that type of player and he doesn't have that poacher's instinct of, say, Javier Hernandez, but that was the underlying reason he scored the goal he scored today. He ran a channel and it bore fruit as a result of a decent finish.

Ole ole I kinda agree with that.

When I play it back to myself it reads "shane long is fast and on his day he will probably beat his man in a head to head.the end."

Just looked up the goalscoring records of the following players to see how they stack up to Shane Long and even Kevin Doyle in his worst Premier League season and they aren't any better, some significantly worse in fact.

    Altidore (1 in 22 League), (2 in 31 overall)
Van Wolfswinkel (1 in 15 League), (1 in 17 overall)
    Elmander (0 in 19 League), (3 in 29 overall)
    Ameobi (0 in 17 League), (1 in 20 overall)
    Maiga (2 in 15 League) *1 in Championship, (3 in 20 overall)
    Graham (1 in 19 League), (1 in 21 overall)
    Jelavic (0 in 12 League), (2 in 16 overall)
    Sagbo (2 in 21 League), (2 in 23 overall)
    Chamakh (4 in 22 League), (5 in 24 overall)
    Jerome (1 in 17 League), (1 in 18 overall)
    Odemwingie (1 in 17 League), (2 in 19 overall)
    Bellamy (1 in 13 League), (1 in 18 overall)
    Agbonlahor (3 in 18 League), (3 in 19 overall)

And then the aforementioned Soldado who has one open play goal all season on about £40,000 to £60,000 more in wages a week.
